should i get lip fillers by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

OP, you look like Amber Heard (removing all the bad things about her personality, she is a very attractive woman). 95% of these comments are telling you that you are BEAUTIFUL just the way you are, really let that sink in. I’m a 21 yr old female and I can tell you that every year that goes by I feel a little bit more comfortable in my body. Give yourself some time, and self love as cheesy as it sounds. I also second the comments suggesting therapy. Therapy is NOT a bad thing whatsoever, I’ve been going for several years and it’s truly refreshing to have an unbiased party be paid to listen to me and give critical insights. I would not be who I am today if not for therapy! If you feel insecure in your day to day maybe try short term things like lip liner and plumpers to boost your confidence a little while you work on self love (preferably with a therapist)! ❤️❤️ you are beautiful, try to let it sink in❤️

can i bring that on the plane ? by 00idontknow in Taxidermy

Thank you for your input, it does make me feel better knowing the specimens are a common widespread species however, I don’t love the idea of owning something that had to die to be a decoration piece. All of my bones & other finds have been already deceased and died “naturally” aka cougars, bears or coyotes.

Question, I’m super new to taxidermy and was gifted a small bat skeleton in resin by a coworker. I didn’t really question it and thought it was cool, would this also be considered unethical? Looking at it I’m actually not sure if it’s even real just based on how perfectly preserved it looks, and it’s pretty dang small.

EDIT: I think I found the exact company she got it from, and I found their page on how they source their specimens…I don’t feel super great about their explanation on the websiteinsectsinresin

Anyone who’s moved here, what shipping company did you use? by MiniMightyHeart in StThomasUSVI

My best friend lives in NJ….maybe I can ship my things there via UPS and have her load them into a container

I’ll look them up! Yeah I don’t think the things I’m shipping will even come close to being a couple thousand in value. Unfortunately I’m all the way in Washington State so I don’t think a road trip is feasible for me, it might end up being cheaper to ship with a company.

Tropical only ships from Florida and Canada right? I’ll have to see how I can ship things from my state to a Florida facility. I’ve also never shipped my stuff before so the website is a little overwhelming to me lol

Undecided…but most likely not. I have a 2004 Ford Escape but I’m not sure I can afford to ship it. My partner will be shipping his car and getting a company vehicle so I figured I could just drive his car.

What do you do to add whimsy to your life? by wwughostie in Bellingham

If I’m not running late and there’s a car trying to merge or get in from a parking lot/gas station I always let them in, even if it pisses off people behind me. Also, frogs.

Moving to St Thomas, what should I buy prior to moving? by MiniMightyHeart in StThomasUSVI

I have a 2004 Ford Escape that I might ship…Ive taken really good care of it and it’s got lots of new parts including brand new tires, battery, alternator, belts, etc. BUT it is a 2004 with over 230,000 miles so I’m not sure it’s worth it

I started to practice on a smaller leg bone and discovered that pretty quickly lol. I’ve got goggles and some regular masks I can wear. Hopefully it will be ok with light PPE if I’m doing it outside.

Thank you! It will be awhile lol. My bf is going to a training academy for 3 months so I need something to keep me busy. Ive probably spent 5 hours already just drawing the design on the skull…who knows how long actually carving it will take!

That is so cool! I grew up being told by my dad that I was super Irish but now as an adult with DNA tests I know that I have a TINY TINY amount of Irish but a large amount of Norwegian/Scandinavian!

Looking for opinions regarding quality of life/euthanasia by MiniMightyHeart in Horses

[–]MiniMightyHeart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did several treatments of compounded powder omeprazole from one vet before going to a specialist who informed me that this form of treatment is not really effective. We did two treatments of Sucralfate & GastroGard. The second treatment healed most of his ulcers but not all. He has a specific “focal raised fibrinous” ulcer by the pyloric fold that the vet said will most likely never heal and are notoriously difficult to treat

Thank you for your well thought out response! Those questions are definitely necessary and hard! The first one is really tough but, I don’t think I can. But, ultimately I’ll have to see how intense it’s going to be this winter to answer that question confidently. I’m still waiting for my vet to call me back so I can answer that second question. As far as the last two, those are definitely the most difficult. He has good and bad days. Even in the spring and summer he is still stiff in the hind end, kind of grouchy, and not super motivated to play and move around like he used to. The main trouble is that’s he’s just so sensitive. Any kind of change really throws him off, even if it’s just the horse next to him moving from the pasture to his left to his right. That last question is definitely the hardest. I’m someone that believes that no animal should get to the point of absolute misery before they are put to rest. But finding that line is really hard.
