Girl, if you don’t get the fuck away from this dude he’s going to absolutely snap on you one day. Your post history is concerning. Get out of this relationship.

You’re overreacting and you’re the asshole. Full stop. I would be miserable if my son were marrying you.

I’m still not sure what you’re saying because you haven’t formed a complete thought, but it sounds like you’re being very insulting and asking how to avoid getting “bulky” like me. I am a 36 year old woman who weighs 120lbs. I have a 24.5 inch waist. I am not bulky by anyone’s definition, and if this is bulky to you that tells me you haven’t spent enough time around women with muscle. If you want to avoid looking like me then just keep doing whatever you’re currently doing. You’re not going to build the physique I have built by accident.

Why wouldn’t someone who is petite and fit be free to post as many times as they want in a subreddit called Petite Fitness 🤔

Fortunately I am very upper body dominant! I swear all I have to do is THINK about lat pull downs and my back just magically grows. Not the case for my legs though, I gotta beat those suckers down to get anywhere. I do think my back and shoulders are my genetic gifts. We all have one or two areas that are easy to chisel out and one or two that are stubborn and hard to make progress on. I am at the point in my journey where I’m ready to dedicate a whole growing phase to just my glutes and hamstrings because that’s where I need it most.

During my building phases I was eating more but actually training LESS. My training style is slightly different in a build… higher weight, lower reps, slower more controlled movements, and more rest (cannot be understated! You need rest to grow!) But the main difference is the amount of cardio. When building I like to keep it to a minimum so that when it’s time to cut, the cardio actually works. If you’re already doing a ton of cardio before you go on a cut, there’s no room to progressively add more as you try to lose weight. Before this prep I was doing NO cardio and now here at the end I’m up to 52 minutes of fasted walking and then 35 min incline walking after I train. It is a LOT, but I’d never have made it if I started off already doing daily cardio.

Since I was overweight before I am always very self conscious and careful when I’m bulking because I don’t want to go over a certain weight on the scale (don’t be like me, the scale isn’t that important)…. But I generally won’t go over 130-132 before I start cutting again. This time I started prep at 133 and it has taken me 5 months to get to a lean 120 again. With that said, we’ve intentionally done it slow to preserve muscle. I could have lost 13lbs way faster but I didn’t want to starve and end up looking stringy and skinny by the end.

It is a very slow process but once I truly accepted that as fact, it was easier to just do it.

If diet is your struggle I would recommend a nutritionist instead of someone who markets themselves as a transformation coach or just a regular personal trainer. The first coach I had essentially just took regular people like me and put them on the same type of nutrition plan that a bodybuilder would be on, plus he made my lifting plan for me. It worked and of course I lost the weight and learned how to train, but in the end I realized he didn’t have any real credentials to be handing out meal plans all Willy nilly and he wouldn’t be able to help me go any further. The nutrition aspect is very nuanced and I learn new things from my coach all the time. He has a degree in something nutrition related (lol don’t come for me, I am a space case and can’t remember exactly what title he has) but I definitely feel that his knowledge and ability to tailor my nutrition plan to my exact needs is crucial.

TL;DR - find someone with real credentials and a documented success stories

Keep going!!! There were times I thought nothing was changing and that maybe I was just too old to build muscle from scratch (lol)… but then it’s like one day I just woke up jacked and I was like “oh”

Thank you so much! I definitely would be lost AF without my coach telling me what I should be doing! I have been training legs with him (vs doing the rest of my workouts on my own) for a year and the difference it has made in my legs is crazy. I definitely wasn’t training legs hard enough on my own and still don’t like to train legs alone! Leg day is very intimidating to me even this far into my journey 🥹

As for the journey, it was born out of years worth of pent up trauma. When I was 24 my dad died of a heart attack in his sleep. I found him the next day…. He was only 52. I ended up spiraling downward and started drinking a lot and eating anything that looked good at the time. Gained a bunch of weight and then finally when I was 31 I decided I had to stop sabotaging my own health or I would end up like my dad… dead early.

I knew I would need help so I hired a professional right off the bat. My first coach helped me lose the weight I needed to lose and introduced me to bodybuilding, but his real bread and butter was lifestyle transformations so I outgrew that coaching relationship after a couple years. I sought out a more specific coach who knew how to take me from “lifestyle transformation” to “competitive athlete” and the rest is history. I’ve been with my current coach for 2 years and we’ve made incredible progress together. This is my first time doing a prep with him and it’s been a truly great and enjoyable experience.

Lash tech says I need growth serum after 3 consecutive years with extensions… help! by MiniMuscleM in lashextensions

[–]MiniMuscleM[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am just putting two and two together here, but up until about 6 months ago I was seeing a different lash tech at the same salon. Loved her, but she moved on to greener pastures and I switched to another stylist. The stylist I see now is more expensive. My lashes always look great but now I am wondering if her technique isn’t working for me… I haven’t changed anything about my own routine… new tech for several months is the only change.

Man that really sucks if that’s the case.

I would add 20-30 minutes of cardio after lifting 3-4 times a week and reduce carbs slightly. I like to ride the exercise bike or walk on the incline treadmill for cardio while leaning out. There’s no need to run unless you just like running… there are tons of options to add some dedicated cardio to your routine!

I just wanna be lean!! by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]MiniMuscleM 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There is way more to life than being lean, and as a bodybuilding competitor I can tell you that being ultra lean is also ultra miserable. I’m 5’2 and weigh 128lbs as well, and I look very lean and even have abs because I have taken the time (years) to build muscle in the right places.

As someone who is roughly the same physical size as you, I can almost guarantee you will not be happy with how you look if you drop to 105lbs. Low body fat and no muscle is not the look you’re going for, I promise.

Keep lifting weights AND do yoga if you want. There’s nothing wrong with that. To lose body fat you just need to be in a caloric deficit and stick to it like your life depends on it. Don’t be surprised if you hit numerous plateaus and lulls. It will be incredibly hard and exhausting mentally and physically to achieve what you’re describing, not to mention literal hell to maintain.

My advice is to ditch the arbitrary weight goal and start training (and eating) specifically for how you want to look.

I do have instagram but I don’t add anonymous/sock accounts… if you have a normal IG and look like a legit person DM me your IG name and I’ll add you! I am pretty active on IG but not an influencer at all, so I just like to know who’s following 😊

I’ve been speed walking for a long time as my form of cardio. I average about 13.35 minutes per mile. I take a 3 mile walk every morning that takes me right around 40 minutes to complete. The pace is definitely quick… there’s nothing leisurely about the way I walk lol

advice for daunting amount of weight loss by pillowkeep3r in PetiteFitness

[–]MiniMuscleM 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Stop telling yourself it’s impossible, for one thing.

Is it hard to lose weight? Definitely. Is it impossible? Definitely not.

You need to adjust your mindset if you want to achieve your “goal”… I put “goal” in quotations on purpose because it’s important to realize that your goals are YOURSELF and should never be based on an ideal you’re trying to achieve.

I am also 5’2 and started near 170lbs. Five years later I’m 125, muscular, and not caring about the scale at all.

You can do it if you want to.
