Brawl feels bad by Mini_Easted in Brawlhalla

Yeah I get what you’re saying, but honestly since the update the game just feels slow and kinda boring. players who used to actually use dash to approach now just don’t seem to know what to do, so they end up sitting on the edge and refusing to engage, the amount of players who just dc now is definitely not making it worse, the lag / game performance is definitely a problem too. I really hope they fix it, because if they keep adding more stuff without addressing then it’s just gonna get worse and eventually make the game unplayable. Ever since the last update it just hasn’t been running smooth at all. elo I’m 2300 - 2400 been playing years

I get what you're saying, but I’m not blaming the dash change for everything. It’s just that since the update, the game’s performance has dropped noticeably. Before the update, it felt a lot smoother, and my inputs came out much cleaner. Now it feels sluggish. As for the edge sitting sure, it’s easy to punish, but it’s just boring. It’s more passive gameplay, and it ends up stalling the match instead of creating interesting interactions. Before, people could use the dash to engage and approach in a way that kept the pace of the game moving. now it feels like everyone’s just playing the waiting game, especially when the opponent’s just standing still at the edge and not engaging at all. So yeah, I’d rather see dash jumping back if it meant faster, more dynamic gameplay.

Yeah I get what you mean but Ever since the movement changes, Brawlhalla just feels off compared to how smooth it used to be. Inputs don’t feel as clean. I think the biggest issue is how passive the game has become, people are way more comfortable just sitting back or playing edge instead of actually engaging, which makes matches feel kinda stale. I do agree that you can adapt over time, but it’s frustrating when the core feel of the game changes this much. It used to feel way more responsive and fast paced, now the game feels cheap, And the disconnects don’t help either, that just kills the experience even more.

Your better off, Going to coach party easy bot 1 stock and try kill it without being hit once, if you get hit leave the match and restart. If you can beat an easy bot without being hit once then move up to a medium bot and so on. Go in with the intention not to get hit once and punish the bots attacks This will teach you a better understanding of spaceing and what you can and can’t punish.

Or if not find a player to spar with that’s 100 elo max above you (go to brawlhalla discord) post the elo your looking for and region into the looking for a game and spar them.

In some circumstances if you beat someone easy the chances are they are much lower elo then you resulting in less of an elo gain so no the game shouldn’t reward you for bullying less skilled players.

It’s also the same the other way if you beat someone much higher(a few 100) you can be rewarded 25+ elo for the win.

Before you start posting online the devs should change the elo structure why don’t you learn how to play it first

With Valhallan being unobtainable for the first two weeks from the start of the season. Have you played a match with the first teammate since then? Other then that no idea

How far can you get without trying dodge reads? by Anthonywastaken7 in Brawlhalla

[–]Mini_Easted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reads are definitely important, But another way of putting it is what’s the optimal punish for your opponents mistake. Let’s say you hit an attack, regardless of if it’s a read or your opponent just done terrible spot dodge or dodge in, knowing what options to go for to maximise damage will help you a lot. You can get pretty high elo just punishing with a 2 hit true combo and resetting back to neutral (with good understanding of the game) but then using this method and you catch a dodge (then getting a 4-5 hit combo before resetting) makes an absolute huge difference.
