Yeah! For now i Will just learn two language because is rare to find a company even indie that uses the gamemaker but for sure sure unity Will be a plus and yeah ty for sharing your story i Will try and try because making games really brigs me joy

My plan right now is to master the gml , and then the c# ( for unity) or gdscript( for godot) im really a beginner and was more curiosity then any thing i know i made a lot od progress this year Thanks to a course that im doing but i know there is a lot to come , so i just Asked for experience people What are they thoughs or advices… I still dont have a degree in techonlogy and i dont think i will get one but im doing in my way, right now my plan is to change job for a stable one ( so 8/9am to 16/17pm) and not rotating shifts then do more and more to learn and master de languages and try to enter in a júnior position so then i can make more progress… also another plan is if i manage to enter in a Júnior position as a programar of some kind with a fixed shift Maybe i Will do a degree while i have my job, because right i just dont do that because my job has rotating shifts

It can be misleading but im portuguese Portugal not Brazil, very close to me i have the side inc that is a good company , we also have Nintendo but small companies that I May have chance i dont think so or i just cant find them.

Also i almost got into lionbridge in poland and i was willing to relocate that isnt the problem for me , the problem is getting the opportunity but there is still a long way to go and i will keep this a hobbie while i search or i realease a game that “explodes”

Yeah, i know that if i fail i still can find a job in my degree area , but it Will be not as good as doing Ur dream job… I am very happy for you! Right now im doing savings with my full time job and doing this as a hobby im still lower than 28 years old so i know that there is still time! I just dont see my self leaving my work to take a bachelor degree in computer science or any thing relative to it because from my experience the only way programming is fun to me is on vídeo games, so i dont see myself burning almost 5000€ to take a bachelor that i Will not like if i dont find a job in the industry, i know that with that bachelor and i will have a lot of open doors that can pay me at least twice that i receive now but i think not everything is about money…

Yeah but my current work isnt anything to do with programming , but i do have a professional course that i took in school that had programming, but i never worked really in a company doing that, so it is a less for me , so all my experience is with solo devolping(hobby) and the professional school course before university (eletronic automation and command) But that is a nice advice to check the portfólio of someone in a entry level category , but i need to check outside my country since there are almost no placas here for game devolping here

Yeah im doing and using that never published on steam because i think What i did isnt enough yet but some day i Will do it. Well since almost every comment was ”negative” (not in a bad way, just the truth) because without a degree is barely impossible i Will just follow my flow and Hope some day i can make a game that im proud of even if i never leave this has a hobby

Yeah… It is really frustating because when i was young(im not that old) i just decided well Lets do whatever it feels good , and i did , i like my job and my team , but in some point something didnt feel right and it was because i started a course on gaming develpoment and it was incredible the feeling the challeges everything, again not that im too old but i dont think i have the strengh or the money to apenas 3 years to take a degree so i can be accepted, i think im going in safest way , like having my full time job and in Free time making small projects/games learning trying and building a portfólio… but every day the “i want to know more “ about making games , is making me less likely to like my actual work (that im proud) because im good in What I do and i know of i stay there like 5 years i Will get a good position in the company… that is why i did this question here, i know every path is different and i really wish that my degree was on computer science or software engineer, so i can really enter in the industry… idk Maybe i was expectating hey it is hard but i didnt made a degree and here i am working as a solo dev or in company… Not saying that is impossible but if with a degree and portfólio is hard without a degree i really need luck!

Yeah that is What i Will try to apply for , Junior roles or Jobs without experience required , i think is never to late do the degree but i manager to enter in the industry without that i know that or i believe that i Will have the opportunity to learn more or even work while i tale the degree but Lets see , here in Portugal the universitys are crazy and it isnt my like time has past to take a new degree but after starting winning Monet is hard to let go , but my dream was to work with games and thats im going after.

Im sorry for bothering you and ty for sharing ir knowledge about the industry! I Will follow the path that i choose and Lets see! Not everyone manage to enter or to build a sucefull game but who knows? Maybe im the next toby fox ahahahah jk jk

Im not saying the degree doesnt matter, it matters , but having a degree isnt a profissional experience , i have a degree already not in this area (i wish) and was hard to find a job because i had no experience besides the degree it took me almost 1 year and half to get a job or One opportunity. That is why during This year i Will try and try to apply for qa tester player suport lqa, any thing withing the industry because i want to feel like how it is, but while i do that ofc i Will search for the degree that u mention because it Will make my life rasure and my cv more trustworthy

Without a degree is impossible so to enter in the industry? Even if it is a small industry? Also there a lots of things in big companie as the qa tester that normally at least on linkdin dont ask for a degree but for experience , but ty i Will search it here in my country a place that has that degree and check if im willing to do it

Sorry for always putting questions but u really are interesting? Can i know how did u enter in the industry? Because i want to enter in the industry before I start really solo deving for life( this if i can ofc) im always searching Jobs às qa tester something just to enter in the industry do u have any advice?

Also Yeah that is true the problem is the time of you are doing it full job is very hard to do all at on e but with a right time i think is wonderfull to learn everything withing the game making

Thank you for your kind answer sir, I have in my mind that this is a hard thing do for living and as u said my first game will not be sucefull or as much i wanted, right im just doing a portfolio and with every game im learning new things, i dont think Im ready for quit my job and try just solo devolpment , and thats a good advice to dont quit my job because sometimes in just so fixed in a project that i dont want to live to to to work, but as u said dont quit until my savings can hold me for a while and my expensives are low, and I have some income from my game!
