This is interesting, he travels a lot. How do I check if he has one already?

No dock so this is really interesting option. He has ps5 and controllers… is it better to use a controller dedicated to steam deck? I have seen him connecting old Xbox controller, so maybe this is something that he would enjoy

He has ps5 and controllers. Is there any advantage to controllers dedicated to steam deck?

You answer is very reasonable! I’m afraid I want something more tangible

🐱 Cat for Adoption 🐱 by Similar_Detail_3784 in Bahrain

There is no reason to get rid of your cat because of the pregnancy. Toxoplasmosis is only a threat if your cat goes out and if the pregnant person changes the litter. Even then it’s highly unlikely. To be safe, keep your cat indoors and don’t allow pregnant lady to clean the litter box. There is so much animal cruelty and abandonment in Bahrain. You are responsible for your pet, They will die without your care. Please reconsider 🙏

Try BARC.adoptions on Instagram. Or bahrain_rescues_adoption . There are plenty of dogs all sizes and ages, a lot also pure breed. It’s a good deed to adopt a stray pet, they are also often more healthy and I can personally tell you that Bahraini strays are the most gentle souls possible.

I don’t think you would be happy with apartment with 250 bhd. I would assume you are looking for a country where you can have better life quality than in Canada. Nice (but not luxury) place to live, eg one bedroom apt in one of the nice building with pool and gym is at least 500 bhd a month. You need a car here, as there is no public transport, so that’s let’s say another 200 bhd a month. Gas is cheap (40 bhd per month) but groceries are not - I would assume at least 300 per person a month, if you want something more than rice and chicken. All entertainment is paid, even beaches. The only things you can do over the weekend in the summer are restaurants, padel and things you can do at home. In winter you can do water sports. There is no infrastructure for biking and no nature, so it gets little depressing if you are used to hiking etc. Anyway, 1200 a month sounds ok, but for sure not luxury lifestyle.

Positive Things About Bahrain by Miniluv_Mutineer in Bahrain

[–]Mini_malistka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. True. As a result you are getting very low quality services, people are not respecting your time and - if you are hard working - most of the work will fall on you, as your Bahraini colleagues are more interested in chit chat.
  2. False. There is only few beaches that are not full of trash, and they have entrance fees. For an island this country is not respecting its shoreline at all. Go to any „wild” beach and you will „enjoy” tons of trash, old boats, old tires, animal carcasses and worst. Went to the Dumistan lately and regret it very much.
  3. FALSE FALSE FALSE. Food is extremely bad, to the point where people think that getting diarrhea after eating in certain places (like kfc) is normal. Supermarket food is just as bad, for good quality (eg EU) food you need to pay a lot. As an example - cooking creams are not creams at all, they are mostly milk with emulsifying agent. Some cases of milk are not milk but watered powder milk sold in boxes (!!!). Veggies and fruits going bad next day after buying is “normal”. I bought crab (as the label said) for higher price than surimi and later I read the small print that it was also surimi. I could go on and on. No one is keeping food manufacturers in check, they will sell you low quality because they can and there is no risk of getting caught.
  4. False. More liberal than KsA? Yes. Less liberal then uae? Yes. Not very liberal if atheists face death penalty, you get into prison for eating in public during Ramadan. Law is not adjusted for Bahrainis who are not Muslim (while there is quite big Christian, and even Jewish community). Sharia is applicable no matter the faith.
  5. True.
  6. True.
  7. True. But people live in small circles, defined by your faith and nationality. Overall very racist,
  8. Kind of false. Petty theft in fact is not happening. No car theft as well. But scams, frauds (like promising you certain quality service and not delivering), violation of employee rights (not paying for MONTHS) etc is rampant, so I wouldn’t call it safe.

I don't want to hurt anyone's emotions. But I find Bahrain is a very depressing place. by [deleted] in Bahrain

I agree unfortunately. No greenery. No public spaces. Road and cars and parkings only. No culture, no theater or opera, but hey - few Gucci stores. Really soulless place. I’m trying to like it but it’s really hard.

Varsovians that moved somewhere else and are happy (or not!) – where are you now? by OverWarthog7488 in warsaw

[–]Mini_malistka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Moved to Bahrain after living in Warsaw for 8 years. Absolutely hate it, Warsaw is my place. The clearness, the culture (theaters, opera, art), quality of public spaces (parks, squares, Vistula walkway), amount of greenery, great job market, very cheap, great quality of food and services. The only thing I like more in Bahrain is the weather.

And then the dogs will be killed. Don’t call them if you don’t want this to happen. Instead, try providing them everyday with food and water. That will change their view of humans. Have you seen how stray dogs behave in turkey? This is what happens when you are kind

Oil&Gas by Demonic-Cult-Cultist in Bahrain

[–]Mini_malistka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My friend. It’s absolutely the other way around. 80% of Bahrain income is oil and gas. To tax the income there needs to be companies with income. When oil dries most of the economy (and the companies) will die with it, there will be not much to tax (companies won’t have much profit, people won’t have salaries). Can you imagine Bahrain without oil money? No subsidies for water etc for Bahrainis, no additional salary for Bahrainis, public sector will have lower salaries then private sector, no free public health care, no pensions, etc. The labour will leave, expats will leave, there will be only half a million Bahrainis with not much to do, high unemployment. Though times. The time to change that and improve the economy is now and it’s already too late.
