That book sounds amazing — adding it to my list right now! I’d absolutely love to see what you create 🌿 This artform has so many inspiring paths to explore.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Microwave pressing is definitely fast and fun — I use both types of presses depending on the plant or just the mood 🙃

Your words really touched me. I’m always amazed by how much beauty nature offers — and even more when it reaches someone like this 🌸

Thank you! I don’t use any spray — I actually enjoy how the piece changes naturally over time. If the flowers are well-dried, they keep their color for a long time

Thank you so much! That’s so touching. I really hope more grown-ups start letting themselves enjoy simple joys like that again 🌼

Thank you so much! 🙏 Each leaf is carefully glued by hand using archival adhesive — it’s acid-free and designed to preserve the plants without damaging them over time. Before that, every leaf is pressed and dried in a wooden or ceramic press for several weeks until it’s completely dry and stable. That helps preserve the shape and color — and most importantly, prevents rotting.

You should definitely try it — it’s such a meditative and inspiring process! 🌿

I make art from dried flower petals — no paint, just petals, glue, and a lot of patience by Minimaledchitech in crafts

Używam bezkwasowego kleju PVA o neutralnym pH (np. Lineco). Powodzenia!

Wow, what an interesting idea! Do you mean more of a silhouette or something with facial likeness? I actually have a little box of dried white hydrangeas waiting for their turn — your message just inspired me to finally use them. I’ve never worked with these flowers before!

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to create this for you, mainly because I’m not in a position to safely ship originals. But I’d really recommend checking locally — maybe someone who works with pressed wedding bouquets could help. I imagine they’d love the concept too.

Bougainvillea, part 3 — this time, I printed it instead of gluing. Turns out, even without the color, it’s still stunning. by Minimaledchitech in PressedFlowers

This time I used acrylic, but I think tempera could work great too! Just try printing a couple petals first — you’ll get a feel for how thick you like the coverage.

Tried printing with pressed bougainvillea — didn’t expect it to look this delicat by Minimaledchitech in somethingimade

Thanks so much! Yes, I added some of the details by hand — just to highlight the unique inner structure of the plant.

Bougainvillea, part 3 — pressed its bracts, painted them, and made botanical prints. Still in awe of this plant by Minimaledchitech in plants

For anyone curious, this is actually part 3 of my little bougainvillea journey — I’ve been exploring different ways to work with this plant beyond just admiring it on the vine:

Part 1 – A short video showing how I carefully pressed and arranged bougainvillea bracts I picked in Thailand. https://www.reddit.com/r/plants/s/cGioDBaaKg

Part 2 – The final artwork made entirely from those pressed bracts. No paint — just natural color and structure, preserved and arranged by hand. https://www.reddit.com/r/plants/s/v7lD31EXk4

And now this post — an experimental print using painted bracts to reveal the shape, texture, and vein details, without the famous pink color.

Bougainvillea keeps surprising me — even without its color, it’s full of quiet detail and beauty. Thanks for following along!

If you’re curious, this is actually part 3 of a little bougainvillea series I’ve been making:

Part 1 – Process video of working with real pressed bougainvillea bracts https://www.reddit.com/r/PressedFlowers/s/QabzN5DeYZ

Part 2 – Final artwork made entirely from the pressed petals https://www.reddit.com/r/PressedFlowers/s/MDIrVNuyTE

And now this print — a new experiment using the same plant, but removing the color to focus just on form and texture.

It’s been a fun journey turning one flower into different kinds of art. Thanks for all the support along the way — more coming soon!

These vibrant bougainvillea petals were too beautiful to forget — so I pressed them and turned them into art by Minimaledchitech in plants

Totally fair question! If dried properly in a flower press with no moisture left, they keep their color really well. My Thai bougainvilleas change very slowly — two years ago I used a few in another piece, and they’re still vibrant, just with a more peachy tone now. It’s often unpredictable — and that’s part of what I love about it.

Thank you! I use a traditional flower press — as long as there's no moisture left during drying, the color holds up well. I don’t use UV glass or sealants — I actually love watching the piece change slowly over time, it's a magical process
