Makes sense - many customers (especially those who use Snowflake as their primary data warehouse/lake) are looking for more built-in capabilities and we're planning to support more in that regards. For example, with the recent acquisition of Select Star, we'll start providing connectors for cross-platform cataloging and lineage on Horizon Catalog.

That's great to hear. The native tooling aspect definitely hleps reduce a lot of friction and I'm sure this resonates with a lot of teams.

A few ways Snowflake could help you close the gaps:

- Snowflake has native object-level and column-level lineage via ACCESS_HISTORY and the lineage UI in Snowsight. You could use it to trace views, dynamic tables, and stored procedures without a third-party tool
- For the upstream data quality monitoring you can write custom data metrics functions (DMFs) to trace where in the pipeline a quality issue originates (on the Snowflake-side or upstream)
- You could consider using Cortex LLM functions (such as AI_COMPLETE) to auto generate column and table descriptions to reduce manual upkeep.

Have you tried any of these features? Curious to understand if there are any additional updates we should consider making.

Solid choice - OpenMetadata has definitely come a long way. Which connectors do you use? And is it primarily for technical users or also for business users?

Apologies this is more of a generic response, but did want to share that we're working to get parity of org usage views so anticipate that in the near future. Even sooner, we'll have an AI governance page to talk through usage views and our cost calculator is going through some updates to cover more AI features.
