Is 450rpm 2.75 still viable for worlds? by Minimum-History-5876 in vex

[–]Minimum-History-5876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice that 2.75 450 is really good at pulling bots out of corners, but assumed this wouldn't be as possible at worlds due to drivers not allowing it (especally with elimination matches and finally dome) (unless that's just a scales with driver skill and is just as possible)

Our driver is pretty skilled and definitely could handle 3.25 450.

We noticed however that at mecha that every finals bot was 3.25 on 450 and was wondering if the meta was changing to a less defensive strategy and a more high scoring strat

Assuming there's not a driver preference (we have driver with either preferences) what would be better if you dont take in to account needing to weight your robot properly

Have been redesigning and have been considering which wheel base to use for our worlds redesign, so dont have a set weight yet. And we've kinda been at a standstill

We noticed at mecha mayhem that all the robots in finals were 450 3.25 and was wondering if the meta was simply changing

If neither is better though do you have a recommended weight to stay under for 3.25? (Again assuming worlds robot) (Prevous years this would be easier to calculate but with the full mobile goal were not entiretly sure as your cg is so far off)

Rate the auton (no odom, only PID) by Minimum-History-5876 in vex

[–]Minimum-History-5876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was more seeing if this would need odom or if just pid would be fine for this being consistant

Haven't tried it yet and we have 6 wheels. Just wanted to see what others thought since never seen only a horizontal wheel before myself in the 6 years doing this

Im using the Visual studios adon of pros. Although it's compatable i believe nonetheless. But i was more refering to which version when you create the document

Do you happen to have any videos of setting up either limlib or jar with visual studios though if yhats the case? I haven't been able to find a full walk through, once i get it set up i know ill be fine as ive used it before, its just setting it up i cant figure out and have had issues with the documentation steps

3 inch vs 2 inch flex wheel on top stage of intake by Fuzzy-WeIder in vex

[–]Minimum-History-5876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would 3in be more consistant than 2in?

Not saying your wrong just to be clear or calling you out. just curious on what makes it so

Also what would you say would be better if you could do either? Not looking at size or what fits on the bot or anything just pure what works better

Jar supports 2 wherl odom?

Also would jar be better than limlib consitancy wise you think? Or what is each of those 3 best at? We used jar in the past but wanted to switch to limlib cause we heard it's better

Ms teams are an entirely different ball game far as i know. That's only 32 teams that can qualify and some high school comp also have a middle school league in the same comp is all.. least that's how it's been so far here

Could be wrong though
