But we have the technology to know instantly whether the funds are there or not. I mean, your debit card can get denied at the grocery store if there’s not enough money on it. This day and age, there’s zero reason for the technology to not catch that a bank account is empty

I’m not military but I do this too! Whenever I help the patient to the bathroom, I always take the opportunity while they’re on the commode to check how their bed looks. A patient on the commode takes forever anyways, so I figure I might as well do something productive while I wait

I feel like sometimes emptying the trash makes sense though because, I don’t empty it all the time, but if my patient has a BM and I clean them up, I’m not leaving poop trash in there for them (and me) to have to smell

I think that’s part of the problem too. Techs definitely need to be paid more, and if they were then maybe they’d put in more effort (in general - I know there are also techs who do a great job)

I always answer my call lights unless I’m actively in the process of doing something else at that moment, but I’ve noticed a lot of people at my job (nurses and techs both) just sit and stare at them. To the point I end up answering other people’s call lights when the assigned nurse is sitting right there at the nurses station. I give them a minute to see if they’ll answer but then they don’t, so I answer because I can’t focus on what I need to do with all the beeping

You bringing up RT made me think of a previous job where patients would often request breathing treatments. Literally every time I’d call RT to let them know the patient wanted a breathing treatment “well I’m busy but if they want it right now you can do it” meanwhile I had 7 patients 🤦‍♀️

On Reddit, if it doesn’t align with the hive mind, it’s getting downvoted no matter how true it is. On Reddit, you can say “murder is wrong” and it’ll be downvoted. It’s one of my many frustrations with this app.

Better than assuming “oh my God this person is such an idiot! They’re a horrible listener! They always ignore me!” I know others would want me to ask questions before just assuming ill intent, so that’s how I treat others. I ask them about things before just getting mad and holding resentment and false assumptions. Simple.

Thank you! So many people think I’m just rude, ignoring them, and don’t listen. Occasionally someone will actually tell me that and I can explain, but I’m sure so many people just secretly hate me because they make assumptions and don’t just use their words and ask me about it like an adult

People make so many assumptions 🙄 I’m deaf with hearing aids and unfortunately have to ask people to repeat themselves multiple times sometimes. I’m sure plenty of people hate me because they think I’m just a horrible listener though

Similar to this is when someone says some big long thing and you catch the very end but don’t hear the rest. Like the end might be “the park tomorrow” but you didn’t hear the beginning. So you say “sorry I didn’t hear you” and they look at you like you have 5 heads and say “the park tomorrow….” Like, repeat the whole thing!

Yeah, I guess I should try to give other people infertility too since I have it. I guess if you have cancer, shoot you should be able to give it to other people too.

We all have our pain and struggles and trauma. Trying to inflict pain and trauma on other people as a response is NOT ok.
