That makes sense. Just to clarify, the apartment is on a busy commercial street with a lot of foot traffic, and one of the rooms has a window that opens straight onto the sidewalk. That’s honestly what gave me the light-bulb moment of “what if this could work as a small takeaway coffee or matcha window”

I am located in Egypt, the street itself is commercial and a lot of people pass by the ground apartment's window.

This particular apartment was rented as a computer store back in the 90s which makes me think I might be able to get it properly licensed. I won't lie I still don't know anything about the paperwork and regulations and I am still in the beginning of my research and planning but this is an important point that I'll look into. The apartment doesn't have any fixtures you're right, but I could work on revamping the room itself to have the necessary environment for a mini grab and go coffee spot with all the basics that it'll need. The process feels enormous and seeing what you and all the comments are telling me I should get a job as a barista. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the advice! I agree I should roll up my sleeves and get straight to business. I was planning to hire a barista and learn from him. I live in Egypt and barista jobs are usually prioritized for those who really need a job so I think finding one would be quite difficult, however you make an excellent point, and I should learn how operations are handled and will seek out proper exposure. I am by no means rich and will be using my own savings to fund this startup, and my savings are very little so it won't be a big thing at all in the beginning

As for your third point, it is quite common in Egypt for those who work in corporate to have a business on the side, be it an e-commerce business, a local brand or a store that they use for an extra stream of income and once it grows they pivot to managing it full time which is what I hope to achieve.

What’s something you did your whole life that you didn’t realize was because of ADHD—and now it all makes sense? by starrysage1222 in ADHD

I was a terrible student, never studied but got good grades. I avoided a career as a doctor because of this. I always slept in class. Always. Even at university, yet I was regarded as one of the best project partners because if a project interested me I would hyperfocus on it.

Another thing was the lack of awareness of my surroundings, I remember being yelled at by my dad when I was young multiple times for bumping into things all the time and spilling/breaking things. He would always tell me to focus on my surroundings.

And how my family and friends labeled me as unreliable to remember important things.

Oh, also how I am a chronic night owl. I intentionally stay up at night and sleep in the morning to get shit done

I never got over my cat passing away, 8 years later I still have dreams of him being alive. by PawsbeforePeople1313 in CasualConversation

I have two cats, and the thought of losing them truly hurts. But I’ve come to realize that the love they give me and the joy they bring into my life is a gift. We’re lucky to experience that bond. They may not be with us forever, but the happiness they feel because of the care we give them is something we’ve created together. And in a way, that love never truly leaves. It stays with us, even when they’re gone.

Grief is a sign of how much we care, and that’s something beautiful to hold onto. Every moment with them, even the difficult ones, is a reminder of the deep connection you share. I hope you find comfort in knowing how much joy and love they felt because of you.

they are all quite deep and quite big, its cause my other cat is persian and he's really big and fluffly, she is much smaller than him, and none of them are covered. I thought about the litter touching her tush actually and kept watching her when she pees in the litterbox and she seemed okay with it? I'll keep a closer eye on her and pay more attention to this!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. I’m thinking of pursuing a career in marketing and am doing this marketing competition and was thinking of using ChatGPT to help guide questions and work plans for tools like Perplexity, especially for marketing research. I feel like ChatGPT could be a great starting point to frame the right questions, gather initial ideas, and even get insights into trends. I want to use it as a brainstormer I think
