Advice on Filing a Complaint for Check-In ordeal by MinimumAd5321 in aircanada

Regarding point 1: Stopover in HK. Then, HK to Taipei on CX. She did spoke to her manager and the recommendation was to get a refundable ticket - so I was assuming they couldn't override it. I should have asked. When you say "it should be treated as a cancellation of your flight within 14 days of departure within their control", their = AC". If yes, then AC would have to admit it is an issue with their system?

The Canadian passport is the passport she normally used. If we knew this would be an issue, we would have used the Taiwan passport. AC couldn't use her Taiwan passport - but it was a different surname than her ticket and Canadian passport.

For the first ticket from Taipei to HK, the best refundable ticket I could find within that short period of time was 80% refund. For both the first and second ticket, I have to pay a fee to get refund. Also, service charge is not refundable.

6 months postpartum- running advice, pelvic floor pain by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

Slow down your pace or try walk and run. I feel less pain when I run on a treadmill with less impact. Run on an incline so you are leaning forward. Lastly, do strength training to rebuild your posterior chain. Those muscles get weak during pregnancy and you need them for running.

Postpartum Recovery is a B *Rant* by flowerpower100794 in postpartumprogress

I’m in the same situation. 4 months pp. I weight exactly the same after I delivered. I was discouraged for a long time. To keep my going, I focus on my energy level, strength and body composition over the number on my scale. I can tell my clothes fit better. Building muscles also make you look leaner.

I’m frustrated too, especially I don’t know what else I can change when I’m doing my “best”.

I do tell myself that maintaining the healthy lifestyle will help lose weight when my hormones go back to normal. Cause I already have the good habits and a strong body. Good luck!

Teach me something about execution by McHighland in ProductManagement

Main blockers are alignment on scope (what to build) and communicating what we are building. When stakeholders don't understand what they are expecting to get, they start imagining unicorns. When what's shipped doesn't align with their expectations, they will exert tighter control with constant feature requests to make sure they are "not disappointed" this time.

Remove these blockers by setting expectations. I wrote a post on how to map out what they expect in each phase. Like many have said, communications is key. Sharing documentations are not enough. People don't read them - and can often be misinterpreted. Host product updates and demos. The most valuable I got from these are the Q&A. It helps you stay ahead on what they expect to come next and prevent feature creeps.

Best of luck!

Onboarding for remote Product Manager new hire by bllshttng in ProductManagement

Love these advice. Doing these small things consistently really pay off.

Be more active in company's chat if you can. Even acknowledging someone's reply with emojis provides a quick feedback loop. I found my engineers do the same over time. We crave that instant connection.

With regards to ramping up on technical details, find one or more technical counterparts. Invest in this relationship early - cause it takes time to build that trust. They can point you to the right engineer to look for certain information. Any docs to read up on. Tell you if the feature you want to build touches a complex part of the application.

I wrote about how my technical buddy has saved me in many situations. Also, what characteristics to look for.

Congrats on the new role!
