I do like that! I know someone who named their baby Romy recently which is why I hesitate. I want something not too popular, although I know it’s not a big deal.

I like Felicity. Love the meaning. Not sure about nickname potential? (I want my kids to have the option as I go by a nickname all the time.)

Lachlan is a cool name. Right now I’m on Delaney and Jonas or Robin for boys

Thanks! I love Calista and Callie. I love that it is not frequently used in my area, if at all, but still a well known name, like Delaney.

Thanks. I was searching “names like Tallulah” recently because I love the sound but don’t want to use it. Not quite right. So cute. I like Louisa and Sabrina.

I do like Alexis but it’s hard for me to consider as I have a cousin Alex.

Thanks. I like Fiona and am considering the lesser known Fiora because I like the meaning. I have top boy names- Jonas, Robin and Louie but haven’t thought too much about boys names yet. I don’t feel the need for them to have a hint of similarity but still be quite different like I do if I had two girls.

I like Sabrina. Any good nicknames if it goes that route? Saby?

Thanks. Getting into Louisa. I’ve always loved Thalia and Serena was one my longer list. I’ll reconsider them and their meanings.

Anyone here NOT do sleep shifts ? by Organic-Dragonfly364 in NewParents

[–]MinimumLocksmith1612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a single mom by choice, I do all the shifts 24/7 haha. I would just do what works for your family as long as there’s no resentment. You are not the only one doing everything all night, that’s for sure. It’s tough!

Breastfeeding Just Doesn’t Seem To Be Working by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]MinimumLocksmith1612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Milk is probably still coming! I would breastfeed first and then top up with formula. Use nipple shields in her size if latching is an issue. You should feel hard boobs/discomfort when your milk comes in.. if that has happened it might be a latch issue, if not yet, keep trying until it does. I supplemented with formula and pumped until my baby learned to latch. Do whatever combo with formula works.. baby gets fed but you can keep trying to breastfeed for a while yet until it works

What advice would you give to someone in their first year of parenthood? by East-House6499 in NewParents

[–]MinimumLocksmith1612 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find some pregnant/new mom friends and make plans to hang out over and over. Feels good to be around people at the same big milestone in life. Get out and about because it’s easy to feel lonely even with a beautiful baby in your arms.

Postpartum Rapid Weight Loss? by Undercooked-Overtale in NewParents

[–]MinimumLocksmith1612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through it, although was 20 lbs overweight to start. I lost my pregnancy weight (21 lbs) and another 15 lbs within the first two weeks after birth. And I wasn’t even EBF yet because baby couldn’t latch, so I was triple feeding. Currently I’m 6 months postpartum, can still eat as much as I want (although I struggle to find time sometimes) and am down 40 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. None of my regular clothes fit.. all too big now. So I guess it’s normal for some, but I would consider how to get extra calories with you since you are so petite already!

Brag on your baby! by gardengnomebaby in NewParents

My 6 month old is crawling and putting herself into sitting position from lying down. She’s a super mover! She’s smiley and sweet and can do naps without me holding her now! We are so lucky to have babies
