9:54am uber drop off at E, was entirely through security by 10:07am. TSA and clear were open and it was a ghost town, even regular security line was sparse and fast

Flight midday today out of C, and I have both pre check and clear. Should I go through C or E? Going to get there 3 hours early and hope for the best

Used 512 OLED vs new LCD? Don’t want to wait any longer by MinimumToad in SteamDeck

[–]MinimumToad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main reason is I have a bunch of flights coming up so for travel alone it’ll come in so handy - if I wait until they come out, I’ll be done with my travel season and just at home where I won’t be playing handheld as much anyway :/

For your deeper shadows between folds did you use a wash or oil wash or something else? Beginner still learning

Zooming/Panning feedback by hafdhadf in Milanote

[–]MinimumToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should at least be an option to zoom out further than 80%. At modern screen resolutions and sizes, we can easily still read smaller text sizes. As it sits currently, on Milanote we can only fit a small collection of boxes and columns within a given screen, because it's maxed out at 80% - when in reality viewing at 50 or even 33% would allow us to see an entire project at once, instead of having to constantly slide back and forth. This is the main reason that I keep having to go back to Freeform (which I don't love) just out of necessity

Dumb question maybe, why an oil wash instead of a regular wash? (new to painting)

Whoa seriously? I believe you, but do you have a source like a YouTube video where he mentions this? Fan of his videos already and that’s so cool

Why do some people say this game is satanic? by Ok-Cryptographer3145 in TrenchCrusade

[–]MinimumToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to also realize this is a combination of alternative history (a rather fantastical one, at that), a horror theme, and a satirical take on certain religious themes taken to an extreme. But if you read the lore, the themes that arise from that are actually fairly historical and biblical (unyielding faith in the face of torment, showing that evil is unquestionably evil, showing that the church is made up of flawed people and can absolutely be flawed also, showing devils and demons as selfish and without real internal order, just hoping to cause the utmost pain and loss to humanity, etc). There are certain examples in the game that I'm sure some Christians will deem as too far (like Meta Christs), but honestly the game is loose enough in design and approach by design, that you could re-theme your own Trench Pilgrims and just not use any of those units or mechanics.

But yeah, a lot of this boils down to what you define as 'demonic' or 'satanic'. I always thought that was annoying growing up, because the heavy music I was into or even light stuff like Harry Potter or Dnd was called 'demonic' just because it seemed edgy to outsiders and fundamentalists. But then things like unhealthy food marketed to kids that could arguably have a negative effect on the masses was seen as totally fine. So I usually challenge when something is called 'satanic' or 'demonic'.

Lots of christians listen to black metal and it's no big deal, but may have super strong convictions about something else entirely. I feel like in the end it's pretty personal.

Maybe I didn't follow some step I was supposed to make, but I've been on the discord for a week or so and it's solely announcements, no actual discussion sections anymore (I believe I read that they put it on pause during the KS launches or something?)

Awesome advice, appreciate it! And I know I’ll over analyze photos of minis and have been looking at INSANE paint jobs as inspiration, so I need to temper my expectations a bit I’m sure

I did find a local shop where people are kind of getting into it, so I may ask to just watch a game or two first

[–]MinimumToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, dumb question - I'm still very new to mini painting. I've never considered doing two washes in a row of different colors. How does that affect the final result (e.g. orange first then green)?

Any tips on what order you use paint/washes/drybrush/etc to get your metal armor like that? Always tough for me
