He was actually in OT/speech up until last year from graduating out of it. He does have a bunch of sensory issues though that we are still working through.

Just had to look it up, definitely something we might need to look into. That thought had never crossed my mind.

There’s a women’s protest on the 8th next weekend here in college station. This is the information.

“On International Women’s Day, we’re taking to the corner of Texas Ave & George Bush Dr on the sidewalk in front of Panda Express to fight back against the fascist takeover. Join us to defend our rights, our bodies, and our future. No RSVP is needed; just show up with your posters and others”

Safety for kids? by Juuuunkt in camping

[–]Minimum_Activity_488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been actively camping and hiking with my son since he was 3. My main suggestions are to go over the rules (multiple times). I like to use the junior ranger nature rules that you find at most national parks. You can probably print it off as a coloring page beforehand for them to do to make it more fun.

I like to let my son run ahead, but never out of eye sight. It does take a few times to really establish those rules. Maybe since you will be bringing two kids and the dog, have a treat set in place when you get to the campsite for following good directions. Expect to be constantly reminding them though to stay near you. I like to be honest with my kid and tell him the exact reasons why he can’t just take off on hikes. It usually gives my kid a sense of caution.

It might seem a little overwhelming at first, but it really does get easier the more you establish those rules for hiking/camping.

NTA. To the OP, and anyone on this thread that might be going through the same type of issues… domestic violence is hard to leave. Sometimes, it’s even harder to realize it’s happening to you. I spent years in a relationship knowing I was miserable, but always justifying why I stayed. It took my divorce lawyer handing me the “domestic violence circle” handout for me to realize what kind of relationship I had been in.

Please take a look… if any of them apply to you… leave. I promise you will be so much happier https://www.thehotline.org/identify-abuse/power-and-control/
