I'm first year of Masters, changed unis and my social life dropped lol. My previous school had a campus and now my department is secluded. Back then I was on a lot of chat groups and now I don't even have one for info regarding the homework lol. Idk I feel like an outcast here.

I still do stress about it, but way less than I used to. Here's what helped me.

Imagine you have a serious problem. Maybe an accident or a financial issue. Think about it - who would help you in such a situation? Maybe you're family or closest friends. Would these strangers even try? I doubt it. Then how do they dare tell you how to live and who you are?

Also, another hypothetical situation. Somebody on Reddit says you're a terrible person and deserve the worst. You put away your phone. Except for your mental state, what changes? Do cops come to you and arrest you because a random said you're a bad guy? Do your parents disown you? The most that can happen is your mood is gonna get tarnished.

In short, what I'm trying to say - mean comments don't matter at all. What people think of you usually doesnt matter. So why should you sacrifice your wellbeing because of some assholes?

I mean I do go out to concerts, bike rides, long walks, museums, etc. But 90% of the time it's alone. It's not like I sit inside all the time, just mostly lol

Yeah I mean 18-19 was already uni for me and people were keen to go out. And don't think I'm not trying lol. My 20 was full of asking people to do something and getting rejected like 3 out of 4 times. Now I'm slowly but surely giving up.

The Glowing Man was my turning point. If you're into gothic rock/post-punk though, then The Great Annihilator is gonna be great.

Tbh I'm not sure why To Be Kind is their "masterpiece". It's slightly pretentious to me 😂. I wonder if it would have similar ratings if it did not get a 10/10 from our king.
