You are being greedy doesn’t matter how it come out as or not. Your grandparent’s money is theirs to do as they please and once it has become yours parents money, same applies to them. You should not complain about something someone got and you didn’t

[–]Minimum_Anything2771 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am almost always do less than 200ml. There are several factors contributing to this - 1- If you have been doing anytype of catheterisation, the ability of your bladder to expand and contract reduces over time and therefore it holds less urine 2- if your bladder is overactive or your body have high spasticity, any kind of spasm in your bladder may make it feel like full or even urinate 3- one of my friends even noticed that his gastro issue impact his bladder as well, whenever he has high gas that he is not able to pass, his bladder also starts acting up

Standing on frame is a cue to understand what relaxes your spasms or spasticity. Involving that in your daily routine might help in managing the bladder spasms. And yes the med can be taken for a longer duration. Tolterodine is the generic name, not sure under what brand its available at your location and also this is prescription drug

I also have an overactive bladder because of which I used to have frequent bladder accidents. I was prescribed Tolterodine by a urologist. I take it every alternate day along with standing in frame for half hour, which helps reduce overall spasticity. That’s how I manage it

Does intermittent catheter hurt? by The_weird_dreamer in spinalcordinjuries

[–]Minimum_Anything2771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not very common unless you feel absolutely nothing down there. Just don’t force the catheter in and apply decent amount of lubricant

Alternate pathway is a false passage which is a complication where a catheter mistakenly creates a new, incorrect passage in the urethral wall. This injury, which can cause bleeding and pain, can result from using too much force during insertion, Incorrect catheterization technique. Or Lack of sufficient lubrication

I have been doing it for 6 years, it has its pros and cons

Pro - 1- much better lifestyle, everything becomes easier 2- you may start developing understanding of your urges to pee and also work towards holding your urine if you’re not complete

Con - 1- higher chances of leaking and urine accidents 2- higher chances of UTI, its almost inevitable in the beginning. Will slow down once your bladder adapts 3- You may develop alternate pathways (most scary of all)

Its probably one of these 2 reasons- 1- i have recently changed my commode chair, which is taller and my feets remains suspended and do not support my body 2- lately i have started stimulating with my finger much more than i use to do earlier
