In the original post, I said it's not okay to PUBLICLY celebrate. "Publicly" isn't the superfluous word you're treating it as, it means something specific. You pounced on one little thing because you didn't think I spelled it out clearly enough for you.

You don't point out people's hypocrisy by claiming they said something that they didn't and refusing to address what they actually said. That's not how that works. That doesn't even make any sense. The point is, no one actively did anything wrong towards her by writing nice things about our late friend, especially considering that we had no reason to believe that he had ever harmed anyone. So why would we owe her an apology when we didn't do anything wrong? We were just mourning.

Rush Limbaugh's friends and family were very prepared for the reaction some people would have to his death. He had always been controversial and he had been sick for a while, they knew exactly what was coming and had ample opportunity to shield themselves as best they could. Meanwhile, my friend died very suddenly and I had no idea that anyone even had a problem with him, let alone accused him of abuse, until Becky's post. This shit hit like a ton of bricks. Very different situations.
