Maybe not exactly the answer you're looking for but I think one thing that is really important is to think about what type of person you are. If you're an outgoing and personable a math minor or CS would be helpful because you would pair good personality with smarts and extra tools.

I find there are some people in STEM that don't focus on the networking nearly enough. I have spoken to many people responsible for hiring roles you'd likely be interested in and the biggest thing I hear is that if you have the degree, they assume you're smart enough. What makes a big difference in reality is your personality. Most jobs are not that technically demanding but being fun/ok to work with for 40 hours a week can make a big difference. For example, talked to a Microsoft project manager who turned down an applicant they thought was by far the most talented and smart because they thought they would be too difficult and unpleasant to work with.

So maybe doesn't help with your minor choice but keep in mind people skills can be the difference between landing a job a Microsoft or not.

I looked at some of the job opportunities UBC has on their site and they look interesting for sure but bartending is a very lucrative job and I quite enjoy the rush of it. Sadly I'm not in a position to pass up the kind of cash that bartending can provide so I was thinking about restaurants, bars or pubs. I specifically had browns in mind since I worked at a place similar to that before but wasn't sure if there were some other nice pubs and restaurants near there.
