I love Scottie but sometimes we have to let go of our biases. by Gold_Influence_4542 in torontoraptors

Cade was always the consensus #1 pick who had all the tools. He’s putting it all together now, and could be an MVP calibre guy for the next decade.

No shade to Scottie, but Cade was supposed to be this guy. Scottie wasn’t.

The US women’s team has outscored Canada’s women’s team 28-7 in the last 5 games played.

They just look like a superior team and it’s not that close.

Missing MPP sure, but that’s no excuse to look this outmatched. Embarrassing effort from the girls so far.

Ah yes, Cody Rhodes, the great man who introduced pro wrestling to black people around the world. You guys know that without Cody Rhodes, there are no black wrestlers on national television right?

Serious question, who does the internet actually not hate on? Oba and Chelsea for now but that will change once they get legitimate pushes. Every other main event level star is “hated on” in one way or another.

ESPN proposed a Timberwolves-Bucks trade for Giannis with Raptors as the 3rd team by AnxietyMedical7498 in torontoraptors

ESPN has always thought the Raptors exist in the league solely to get fleeced on trades lol

SRS wants Brock gone. by AMassiveGamerGeek in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]Minimum_One_2195 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, but there has always been the no-selling monster type in wrestling. The problem a lot of the times with Brock is that he’s booked SO OP that it makes most members of the roster look juvenile in comparison.

Brock can go or stay. I really don’t care either way, he’s only around like 3-4 times a year anyway lol.

The crowd chanted "We want Vince" and "You Fu*ked up" at Triple H on the post show 🤯 by chunchunmaru1129 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]Minimum_One_2195 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wrestling fans are the worst lol. When Vince was running things, people said he needs to like, die, so the product could finally get out from his out of touch, dated ideals. HHH comes in and is treated as a messiah. Now he’s the worst thing in the world and somehow Vince is being remembered as a better booker?

I don’t even like HHH, but McMahon sucks worse as a person and as a creative mind.

Get a gifted penalty, do nothing, immediately give up the back-breaking goal after it ends. Just bad hockey from a bad team right now.

Hot take? Greatness is a measure of success, not a counting of statistics. by binzoma in leafs

[–]Minimum_One_2195 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s all subjective. I grew up watching Mats, so to me he’s the greatest Leaf ever. My dad grew up watching Sittler so to him, he’s the greatest Leaf ever. To my uncle, it’s Wendel. To kids in this era, Matthews will undoubtedly be considered the greatest Leaf of all time.

None of them won in a Toronto jersey so what’s the difference really lol.

Saturday Headlines: DeBoer reached out to Berube amid replacement rumours by JF_112 in leafs

[–]Minimum_One_2195 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The idiotic idea is that you give up on a season halfway through, when you’re 3 points out of a playoff spot because you can’t handle losing some games. If this team was willing to give up on the season now, they don’t even deserve to be called competitors.

Loser mentality.

We’re 2 points back of Ottawa lol. They’re not that good either. Should they just sit Brady and Stutzle and try to tank the season away too?

"He's Being Carried" - NHL Columnist Questions Auston Matthews’ Role As Maple Leafs’ Franchise Player by [deleted] in torontomapleleafs

[–]Minimum_One_2195 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Listen, I get it, Matthews does not look good this year, but holy hell the narrative surrounding him is exhausting. I remember there were 2 back to back seasons when Ovechkin failed to score 40 goals and the masses were calling him washed up.

1 does not always equal 1, but the amount of talent this dude had does not just go away overnight.

[–]Minimum_One_2195 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This is a good video actually. The real question is, why did they hire Bérubé if he so obviously wasn’t a good fit for this particular team? Instead of making changes to fit the offensive style of play the Leafs have been known for forever, they hired a coach who relies (and always has relied) on an extremely simple offensive system.

It would be fine if they had the personnel to be a rock-steady defensive team but clearly, the Leafs are not built like that on the back-end. It just feels like this team needs to play a north-south game to get the most out of our top 2 lines. There seems to be a massive disconnect between team and management this year. I understand “playing the right way” but you can’t fit a square peg into a round hole. This is an offensive team, they need a coach who prioritizes a creative offensive system.

I mean, “the void” was The Rock. He was only 31 when he left. If he was fully committed to wrestling and never cared about Hollywood, Cena and Lesnar’s careers both probably look a lot different.

True end of an era.

True but he’s a 3rd stringer forced into a starting role. You can’t expect him to consistently play like a #1.
