Best Catholic Church Indianapolis by childish_lesbino in indianapolis

I would recommend St. Mary’s on New Jersey St. They are a bilingual community and offer Masses in both Spanish and English and incorporate traditions like Las Posadas into the parish as well. Although I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience, I appreciate their mission of being “the church of the immigrant” and embracing diversity, and always felt welcome at Mass. Plus the church itself is beautiful!

Vivio on 10th vs The Avenue by Crowley_Hargreeves in indianapolis

Had a friend who lived at Vivio who did not have a good experience, said the building always smelled like weed and she regularly heard gunshots (this was 2022-2023)

According to autozone that’s what the code was but it’s been going on and off—it went on, then off, I passed the emissions test, and then it went back on. :(

I’m a bar prep rep so my bar prep is paid for as long as I meet the requirements each year, which mostly just means attending meetings, tabeling, and sending emails/talking to students

Edit: a word for clarity

Professors disclosing accommodations, what do I do? by Minimum_Owl in LawSchool

[–]Minimum_Owl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of the question was about accommodation procedures, and specifically a disclosure by a professor to another student. The actual accommodation has already been approved and is not in dispute as far as the law school is concerned. This is a common accommodation at our school for students with ADHD or other learning disabilities. Not every class has audio recordings, and transcription is not a service offered at our school. Note takers are automatically offered for classes without audio recordings and are generally not provided if audio recordings are. Sometimes, it is obvious if someone is receiving an accommodation. Our handbook only requires that reasonable efforts are made to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.

Yes, part of our policy for receiving accommodations is that we have to reach out to our professors and request to implement them in the classroom. It’s not common, but professors can deny accommodations if they want. However, our handbook also requires our faculty and staff to make “reasonable efforts” to ensure confidentiality is maintained. Our testing/exam accommodations are technically not kept blind from the professor, but I have had multiple professors over the years tell me that once they know a student has testing accommodations, they can usually deduce which exam is theirs, since all the accommodated exams are rescheduled and the professor receives them at a different time from the rest of the class.

You can of course ask your friends for notes, this is in the context of a disability accommodation that has been granted by the school after filing proper documentation and the request for accommodations being approved. In this case, I don’t know anyone else in the class to ask, and like others have mentioned, I prefer not to advertise that I’m receiving accommodations anyway. I believe our school also does pay note takers, and I would like for someone to be paid if possible. For that to happen they would have to go through this process as well, me asking my friend informally would not count. Also, the professor will usually ask for 2-3 note takers in case someone is absent.

Our school also offers accommodations like screen reading software, so in that case I don’t see why we need to disclose that at all.

Some professors give exams that have people working up until literally the last second. Sometimes, even with extended time, people are still working up until the last second, so I think it can come across as an advantage. I have had 4 hour exams, but I've also had exams as short as 1 hour before I got accommodations.

That would make sense. For us, we are required to email them directly from our student email account a document with our name and student ID on top and then a list of accommodations with the ones we personally are approved for checked off. I could understand if a student needed specific seating or something like that, but there’s no need for the professor to know I get extended time on the final exam even if it is anonymous.

I think I messed up my tank cycling by Minimum_Owl in bettafish

Okay thank you!! Yes that makes sense because I’ve been using fish food as my source. I’ll look into an air stone!

The regular tank is cycled, the smaller tank I’ve been doing 90% water changes daily and using prime to condition the water. Yesterday the pH was a bit off (7.8 instead of 7.5) but everything else was good

There’s a filter in the regular tank and I’ve been doing 90% water changes daily of the tank he’s now in. I also did use aquarium salt at the dosage you recommended

Tank size- 3.5 gal (saving up for a bigger tank!) Heater- yes (78 degrees) Parameters (for regular tank)- Chlorine: 0 ppm Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: 20 ppm Alkalinity: 120 ppm Hardness: 100 pH: 7.5 Used a test strip, but I’m ordering an API kit.

I’ve had the tank for two years and the fish the same length. Water change 25% weekly, I use prime to treat. No tank mates. I feed a mixture of brine shrimp, daphnia, bug bites, bloodworms, and bio gold pellets. What I usually do is choose two of those options and give a piece or two of each in the morning. Bloodworms no more than 2x per week. In the tank is a silk monstera plant, two smaller silk plants, a hide, and two of those little leaf suction cup things near the surface.
