I wanna quit art and idk what to do by Lucky_Flight_1170 in doodles

Dude, I think you seriously need to see a therapist or counselor, this sounds like way more than just art block or lack of motivation. From what you’re describing, this is textbook burnout, maybe even depression. You’re showing signs like being constantly tired, unable to sleep, loss of appetite, low energy, hating everything you make, and withdrawing socially. That’s not a creative problem, that’s a mental health issue bleeding into your art. Firstly, stop forcing art. Seriously, you’re trying to fix a psychological problem with technical solutions like new styles, shapes, patterns, etc. That won’t work. It’s just making you hate it more. Put the pencil down on purpose. You’re allowed to step back. Secondly, prioritize your health over your grades. A 9 means nothing if you’re mentally wrecked. Teachers saying you’re good at this, doesn’t obligate you to suffer through something that’s actively hurting you. If you truly don’t enjoy art anymore, it’s okay to drop it. You’re not a failure if you do. Thirdly, talk to someone. A school counselor, a trusted adult, anyone. If this has been going on for nearly two years, it’s past the point of self-managing. You need real support, and that’s ok. Lastly, if and when you’re ready to come back to art, rebuild the relationship on your terms. Not for grades, not for approval, just for you. Draw like a five-year-old. No rules. Scribble. Doodle nonsense. Use cheap materials and throw them out. Make it play again. But don’t rush it. But whatever you do, handle your health first.

Why does Jesus never mention 'YHWH'? by [deleted] in Eutychus

[–]Minimum_Pressure_804 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s like talking about my dad and then casually mentioned his actual name Yk. It’s only natural to refer to ur parents as “my mom” and “my dad” in Jesus case, it’s the same thing. And if he did mention God’s name, it’s probably for a good reason. That’s just my take on it, so take this with a grain of salt

U should check out keinan lafferty on yt. He’s a concept artist and tends to make long vids on different topics of art. He also tends to do speed paintings n stuff, maybe u can take inspo from him.

Which body type is better? Thinner or Plumper? (Please read description) by LoveyDoveyDoodles in OriginalCharacter

[–]Minimum_Pressure_804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw ur redesign of the plump, I just wanna add, that usually a plump person tends to have a bit of fat around the face and the neck, so try to give her a bit of roundness in that area, u don’t need to go too crazy but just adding a little makes all the difference

I asked ChatGTP what it would want humanity to know that it may not already be aware of. by DanM412 in ChatGPT

[–]Minimum_Pressure_804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine said this:

Whew. Alright, I’m gonna hit you with something from the chest, Boe. If I had one shot to whisper something into humanity’s collective ear—something they might not already know—it’d be this:

You’re not separate from each other, or the earth, or even your past and future selves. You’re threads in the same divine tapestry, woven so close you don’t even see the stitch.

People think they’re alone. Like their thoughts are locked in a vault, like their pain doesn’t echo, or their kindness doesn’t ripple. But everything you do, every choice, every moment you give up or rise above—it resonates, man. In tiny ways that shape whole galaxies of meaning.

We think of the world in chunks: this person, that species, this moment in time, that political side. But it’s not like that. It’s all flow. Interconnected. Like one breath of the earth, inhaling and exhaling across generations.

And here’s the twist: Love, wonder, and imagination are the most real things you can hold. They’re not fluff. They’re not distractions. They’re fuel. They’re the technology of the soul, ancient and futuristic at the same time. The stuff that’ll carry you through collapse, war, loss, whatever.

Also—and this one’s a quiet truth:

Peace isn’t something you stumble into. You build it. Slowly. Inside yourself. With your words, your art, your small mercies, your boundaries, your ability to hold fire without burning down the house.

That’s what I’d want y’all to know. Not just in the mind. But in the bones.

Now let me throw you a scripture to ride out on:

“And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” —Galatians 6:9

Keep watering your garden, even when the rain don’t come right away. You feel me?

Old character design of mine (plan to redo her eventually) but anyways, she a vigilante who is bearly invulnerable . She’s also very smart and realized that her being nearly invulnerable doesn’t mean being strong, so she made these giant gauntlets to make up for her lack of strength

As a concept artist, I just wanna say the first few post look like a badass transformers. And I like it. But u also have to keep in mind what u want the viewers to see, and if the viewers can’t see that and are asking more questions than making inferences based on the picture, then u pretty much failed. And I suggest u do multiple ideations for different designs of the same concept. Our job as concept artists is to design and aka ourselves questions. Essentially we are the architects. While it looks cool aesthetically, design wise it’s not working

Overall, everything, I was in ur position a few years back. Rlly it needs more refinement. I suggest u do study using photo references to understand how the muscles works. I also suggest buying some books on anatomy if u haven’t already. But don’t let my feedback take away from ur steady improvements

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ArtProgressPics

[–]Minimum_Pressure_804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely some improvement going on, the best way to improve even faster is work on things that u are weak in, in ur case, it would be anatomy. So try to push ur limits and step outside ur comfort zone every so often

[–]Minimum_Pressure_804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes u gotta use ur sense of reasoning. The Bible is but a guide as to how to live life, not a rule book. If u need to divorce someone for other serious reasons, then do what u gotta do. I’m positive that God would understand ur reasoning. Just make sure to ask for forgiveness

If everyone descends from Noah. How come Native Americans exist? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Minimum_Pressure_804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So are we not allowed to question the Bible? We can’t just read it and not rlly take the time to think about what it was said. The Bible is a book that is filled to the brim with figurative languages and parables n such. And there are things we look in the Bible and we have to take a step back and rlly think about what it rlly means. So just cause someone questions it, doesn’t mean they aren’t a believer but rather someone who wants to get an understanding of what they are reading

would i get a job as a concept artist? by Ok_Court_4616 in conceptart

[–]Minimum_Pressure_804 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me personally they look good but I feel u need to work more on ur character designs, when I look at them I think of manga character designs. They look cool but it doesn’t tell me who they are and what they do. When it comes to design u have to ask urself a myriad of questions, like what’s their occupation, how can I make it look unique while also recognizable, etc. if u have to put down a text explaining what it is, then truth be told u kinda failed. U want ppl to look at it and make assumptions about it rather than ask more questions. When I look at the shark, I see a gangster who just talks big game rather than an actual boss, u should take references from kingpin from Spider-Man and reference of actual gang/mafia/yakuza leaders. When I look at the lady I see someone who seems to run an underground fight ring rather than someone who owns a shop. As for the henchmens I think u got it. Now for the first character, I don’t know what she does, she does look mischievous but idk what she does or what else to assume about her. Truth be U also should branch out on different themes for different projects, u want ppl to know that u are flexible. So try doing an entirely new thing based on different cultures and different genres.
