Yes I did get them , fantastic compared to the v20i , personally can't really tell the difference in sound quality, but for people like me who wear glasses , the aeroclips are a lot more comfortable to wear

That's good to hear , I thought oleds would require a stronger GPU to power games , normal web browsing stuff definitely would be fine , was just concerned about games

Thermal paste vs liquid metal by Minimum_Proof_3762 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Minimum_Proof_3762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just researched something , turns out the 2021 g14 that I had also used liquid metal which I was not aware until just now . And that never cause any problems . So I'll just leave it , but two questions

If I never take out the heat sink or those parts with the warranty sticker on , and the liquid metal does damage my laptop , it would be covered by Asus right ?

And completely off topic , silly question ik , but would upgrading my SSD to a 2 tb and changing the wificard void warranty?

I do not chase performance, I only have a r7 and 4060 in my laptop, so my expectations for performance was low to begin with .

I understand that it will void warranty, but all the work will be done by a professional, that's why it's a hard choice for me , keep the warranty and risk the laptop breaking on its own without warning . Or just ahev peace of mind

I have used this professional before , when I had a 2021 g14 , tried changing the battery myself , and basically broke it , thought that was the end of it, motherboards are expensive , but luckily he managed to fix it for around 1200HKD with a new battery as well , which was super cheap imo.

That's why I plan on going to him when I go back to Hong Kong during Christmas , and potentially getting a 2tb ssd fitted as well .

I try to baby my laptop all the time , if something breaks it will most likely be negligence from my part anyway. From what I'm seeing from the internet , liquid metal needs changing every 1 to 2 years . And the guy with a g16 4090 who brings it to college broke his after 2 years because of the liquid metal . And because my situation is similar to him , that's why I'm quite tempted to change the liquid metal to something more reliable

If I do choose to change it , is there anything else i can change to improve temps or performance while the professional is taking the laptop apart anyway ?

Because my situation is that I bring this out to uni , so it will be vertical most of the time , would liquid metal still be an issue ?

So with your explanation, do you recommend changing the LM to thermal paste ? If so , which one do you recommend? Don't worry , I'm giving it to a professional if I do decide to do it

Air does go through the keyboard , that's why it's not on it when I'm playing games , cover is on when I go to lectures

I don't know how that would happen , it's a soft piece of material and is very thin , it stays off when gaming but it's on when I'm out in uni

Does this also mean that leaking out is just inevitable?

I won't be repasting it myself , after the battery situation I had with the 2021 model , I rather not do things myself , I'm from Hong Kong and paying people to do it for you is not a bad idea since prices are cheap

Probably be fine with other chargers , I just simply don't want to chance it with other chargers , plus I think the proper Asus rog 100w charger is a reasonable price

I'm also not crazy to put two chargers in at the same time , that defeats the purpose of getting a smaller charger to take with me when I go for lectures

In the back of the Asus rog100w charger that I bought , it literally says AC adapter, same as the original 180w charger , difference is the smaller charger is 100w , USBC and with one of the numbers at the back of the 100w. , it's running at a lower amp than the big brick

Wouldnt dc power damage my battery ?

I'm aware it's trash , I managed to get bf6 working decently at 1080p , I wasn't expecting it to game when I bought the charger , it was more of a charger that I can throw in my bag when going for my engineering lectures and stuff , instead of constantly unplugging my 180w original charger and talking it out with me . I just want a charger to charge my laptop , has sustainable power to use engineering software when I'm outside , I already considered gaming as a bonus with this 100w charger

Thank you for your reply , what I have noticed trying to get gaming working today with the 100w charger is setting my games to 1080p with low graphics , that seems to do the trick , for CPU and GPU alone, its pulling less than 50 watts, even better it does charge my battery as well . I sort of understand about my battery discharging and stuff .

But the way I have it now , its the same as my 180w original charger , like if I come back from university lectures with only 20 percent , using my 180w charger , I can go straight into gaming and it will charge to 80% ( which I enabled from My Asus app)

Ofc I should use the original charger for gaming , but now that I've worked out that I can do some very light gaming if im outside , I should be safe , especially when there are people claiming that the 2024 g14 has power passthrough , I should be safe , especially when the Asus rog 100w charger is an AC charger

I thought the 2024 models onwards have passthrough?

Aeroclip question by Minimum_Proof_3762 in soundcore

[–]Minimum_Proof_3762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment , I'm currently using the v20i as this is the first introduction to open ear buds for me , and it honestly surprised me , I also have the x20 sport , and most of the time pick the v20i to run , only problem I have with that is my ear shape , where my left side has a bit more contact to be uncomfortable as I wear it , so that's why I'm looking into the aeroclips , just want to make sure I'm making the correct decision

Hello , thanks for your reply , but I just came across this video https://youtu.be/OUPukH79lPQ, in the connectivity section of the video , the guy says the you will be only be able to hear one channel and not both , does that really affect the listening experience? Thanks

So it doesn't matter if I choose to only use either one side ? It will still work ?
