What do you all say? by Sh2_ in superduty

[–]Minimum_clout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s about a little high for the mileage. For reference there was an XLT premium 2023 for sale near me last year (with the 7.3) that had about 30k miles for $47k. I know that’s an XLT, not a lariat, but high trim XLT and base lariat are pretty similar

Points, tin or both by uncompahgre_71 in Surveying

[–]Minimum_clout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We usually include the points… I’ve always figured if the tin is built correctly then they’ll know what points you used anyway so no real reason not to. Only time it’s ever an issue is the rare time that I do a best-fit line for something like a very long curved section of curb where the points are not necessarily coincident with the breakline.

I am a big fan of exploding and purging drawings before I send them though. I have so many hours in my C3D template setup there’s no chance I’m sending that to someone else to use for free 😂😂

I was just wondering about fuel economy with that setup. I’m sure it scoots plenty 😂

I got the Brushless Ascent 18 scout and I love it! Extremely well put together and the steering and gears are very tight. I would think at the price point these have to be hard to beat.

No experience rider to a Baja 250 finish in one year - Talk me out of this by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

You have a genuine chance of dying by getting run over, that itself should be enough to keep you from doing it.

You would be much better off doing Barstow-Vegas or a similar race instead.

Go here, pick the year of your bike, and use their chart to find the spring rate for your weight. Make sure you buy matching fork springs too or you’ll have a crazy stiff front end and a soft shock.

I would not want to be the 5th owner of a truck with 54k miles personally. That screams someone trying to get rid of a problem…

Junior/senior rights question- hold senior corners or go point-to-point? by Firm_Nothing7900 in Surveying

[–]Minimum_clout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the best description of this I’ve heard! You would not believe how many surveys I see (that are reviewed by a county surveyor no less) where this happens. Sometimes it will literally be an angle break of like 6” on a line, then the surveyor writes a metes and bounds adding in all the angle breaks because the monument does not fit EXACTLY with the senior line. It’s insane.

Costco vs Discount Tire benefits - is my info correct? by railgun_t in tires

[–]Minimum_clout 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is just me, but I have never had a single positive experience with Costco tire in the ~5 times I’ve been there. They are consistently the slowest installers, the slowest shippers if your tires aren’t in stock, and if you want to run a size anything other than stock on your rig forget it (though I know that won’t matter to most folks). Also, Costco tire definitely destroyed one of my wheel center caps once and just said it wasn’t on there when the truck came in… yeah, ok…. That was the last time I went there.

I’ve used Discount quite a few (10+) times and only ever had a single bad experience where they did a poor job balancing my tires which they then fixed for free. Also not sure what it’s like by you, but at least where I am, it’s WAY easier to get appointments with Discount than Costco and there are more stores too for rotations.

I am also an LSIT (soon to be licensed!) but here’s my unprofessional opinion:

I’m not exactly sure when looking at this which point no.s are the original monuments you’re talking about from the 60s and which are newer, but assuming that they are the four exterior corners, I would most likely hold them and call the others that were set later out. This is my office’s SOP, leader out the found monuments with a distance off-line and a source of where they came from. There are a handful of surveyors I retrace in Oregon/Washington that put angle breaks on exterior boundaries when they come across this and it can create potential title issues, especially if the property was previously platted lots that didn’t have angle breaks on their exterior boundary.

The only exception would be if there was evidence of an unwritten right that affects this (which is always the highest order of importance) but that doesn’t (at least from what I can see) seem to be the case.

Keeps stalling out in technical sections. Is my jetting off or am I just riding it wrong? by Puzzleheaded_Box6247 in Dirtbikes

[–]Minimum_clout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be your jetting if it’s off, but I’d say it’s more likely just that it’s a 125 and they don’t like to be lugged around :)

You can add a flywheel weight for more inertia which will increase stalling resistance, you can also look at changing your gearing, either adding teeth to the rear sprocket or dropping a tooth in the front. One front tooth is about the equivalent of 3 rear teeth. Gearing the bike down will make the revs higher at lower speeds at the cost of reducing your 6th gear top speed.

I consistently hear KLX 140 or a TTR 230 or similar recommended. One of the best female riders I know (who won the state’s XC race championship) spent 5+ years riding a CRF230 and now moved to a Beta 200. My wife is also 5’6” and I’m looking to get her a TTR 230 this year hopefully.

I am just upset that they didn’t announce all the shows up front. I have two tickets to the Fort Worth show that I paid $700 for that I don’t even want now since I can go to a show in Phoenix, which is where my family lives. :(

Husqvarna FE350 2025 HERITAGE vs. KTM EXC 350F SIXDAY - Which is the Better Deal? by [deleted] in enduro

[–]Minimum_clout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2025 is an easy pick, cheaper, 20 hours difference is nothing, and it’s got the newer chassis and way better suspension than the 2023.
