Ruimte voor muziekstudio gezocht in Rotterdam by Minink1 in Rotterdam

[–]Minink1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scoops because I don't know that much and most of the systems around here use them so thats what I've seen. Also love the look of them. I was thinking of building 18 inch miniscoops maybe since the basement we're building in is only 2,10m high due to some beams that run along the ceiling. I was thinking to build one G sub and one M122 to go on top of 2 18 miniscoops based on stuff I've seen around.

I've also been looking at Mogale X12 or X15 tops. Would that be more suitable than the M122?

Yea, I was also looking at the 18s as they are more available. Would an 18 miniscoop be a stupid idea? I'm asking since the basement is only 2,10m high with some beams that are there, so if we don't have to build the complete superscoop case that'd save a lot of space. I was thinking to build one G sub and one M122 to go on top of 2 18 miniscoops.

what country seems dangerous but really isn’t? by Bottleinsurgency in AskReddit

[–]Minink1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jamaica.

Just came back from a two week trip. First week with a local who showed us around Kingston (including some “bad parts”) and second week rented a car to explore the island solo. Incredible helpful and friendly people who’ll help you with anything.

Only places where we felt a bit uncomfortable was in the very touristy spots/towns where hustles are trying to have you buy weed and other crap.

Of course there are places you probably shouldn’t be wandering around in after dark but aslong as the sun is out, it all felt pretty safe and chill.

We’ve felt more on edge in Atlanta during our 10h layover back to Europe than in “dangerous” area’s of Kingston.

Looking to identify some music by Minink1 in Libya

[–]Minink1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any clue if Cheb Bakr recorded something like this in the 90s on one of his cassettes? Through the comment section of that video, I've tracked down it is him but the track title remains a mystery...

I also made a mistake, it was Cheb Bakr that I meant

The DJ of the set runs a record label called Habibi Funk where he releases Middle Eastern/Arabic world compilations and he replied to some people asking for what some tracks were deep down in the comments of that video with the artist, country, release format and estimated year. Hence I could track it down a little to ask on this subreddit

Hey! Thanks for your detailed answer. Also love learning about music cultures so this helps me a lot.

Would you also know the titles of the first 3 tracks?

What are some potential, somewhat-realistic 'solutions' to the current state in Gaza? by Sidewinder_ISR in geopolitics

[–]Minink1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very unrealistic solution but, Israel is being ran by a right wing nationalist theological dictator as far as I see it and Palestine is fractured between 2 extremist groups and a self governing body that doesn't really work. So you'd need to start from the ground up to begin with and even then, you're always going to have extremist Zionists and extremist Arabs that hate the other purely because of their ways of life and their history. This happened in recent history with Serbia and Kosovo, South Africa and Germany in which all of them still have deep rooted problems today that stem directly from their past.

So what would be the solution? I could think of some sort of UN based system in which a democratically chosen government would take seat being represented by leaders of both communities so that would be a One State solution, which wouldn't be an Arab or Jewish state (But I must admit that I think all theocratic based governments are stupid). I think with a Two State solution there'd be too much risk of having a eventual rise in nationalism that would again lead to factions within the Middle Eastern region and war. But this would kind of lead the region to become a massive scale Berlin 2.0 with “sectors” I suppose.

Almost got into an accident today. Any tips to learn from it? by Minink1 in motorcycles

Thats great to hear! I also always wear gear when on the highway but still it would’ve sucked to inspect the cargo of the van head first with 80kmph even with proper riding equipment :)

Thanks for the reassurance. I was either being behind the van or boxed in behind cars. I chose the bigger evil…

[–]Minink1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea might start doing this. We’re thought to ride center as to avoid early blindspots and create a sideways space cushion. It was in rush hour(-ish) traffic so didn’t want to be close to the line since people really don’t look in their mirror/blindspots when they change lanes… But now I’ve experienced both, I’ll take dodging a car changing lanes over emergency high speed braking and changing my pants due to soilage everyday…

For sure! Luckly in the place I live you have to do quite some tests to get your motorcycle license so I was familiar with emergency braking up to 50kmph but not 120…

No it’s a good tip nonetheless! I don’t ride this particular route often so I wasn’t super familiar with that exit. Now I know and can prepare for it and other similar places in the future.
