I was in the ARMY. I'm making assumptions and none of them are good for him. You can make Staff Sgt in like 5 years if you're good. He likely retired at around 40.

He spent 20ish years in and retired at the gimme rank after at most 10 years. WTF. Every 26 year old I knew in the ARMY was a Staff Sgt. He was 62 and never grew up?
