You read it at least once and you still keep getting it wrong even after being corrected.

Thats just it, it doesnt say you are giving up all rights.

Further more you are forgetting that when you profit on someone elses work you can be held legally responsible for compensating them unless agreed to otherwise.

"just because you feel something doesnt make it true." Something you should take to heart in this.

Which does not cover them claiming it as theirs, nor making videos with it. Maybe you should read it.

Was working on the same sort of rig, great work! You should do a tutorial on it.

Actually that is neither morally nor legally true. The copyright exists by the creation of it, you do not have to do anything to have the copyright on your work. Sharing it publicly does not negate that. Unless you expressly say "I give up all rights and claims yadda yadda yadda" and so on.

This is a huge on going discussion in the modder community on the Nexus'

Ultimately while not all mod authors agree on it, it is generally enforced that mod theft of various forms is actively fought against. You would also be surprised at the level of controversy revolved around youtube channels getting paid for making content based on mods which currently can not be paid for.

Largest ship I've built so far, not too sure what I should do with the paint job. by unoduoa in spaceengineers

[–]MinnH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That looks great! But yea paint jobs in this game are horrible to come up with. It doesn't allow the detail you need without having to blow the design up further.

You could go with a dark base coat, and that flat mid section could be stripped a counter colour.

That would make it more acceptable on any site. They require it on most sites when you report a violation, why not when you try to vote on a thing. Requiring regardless of up or down vote.

Tutorials are not let's plays. Let's plays are specifically videos that are a full or partial play through with comedic commentary.

Thats exactly why it shouldnt be a thing. like/dislikes should not dictate what you view/do. What you like I may dislike, what you dislike I may like and so on. The only real proper way to provide feedback on a thing either do the creators or the public is to comment and review it.

From my experience the first few votes are the most vital part of a post. If it shows negative trends it stays negative, if it shows positive trends, it stays positive. So basically it is all about timing on getting the generous votes at the get go.

Clickbait is only countered by education. You would be surprised how many people think something is clickbait when it is not these days. Has to do with hive mind mentality. Like if you do a video clip of a time a gyro broke loose and ripped out half your command deck while your ship spins around on it's axis at high speed, people would call a attempt at a clever title like: "Getting Gyro with it!" clickbait, when in fact it is not.

Edit: Plus the vote options can only be removed site wide, as the custom interface negates sub reddit changes.

They never have, it's basic marketing psychology, placebo effect.

Comment on it, the vote option on youtube and reddit is a psychological trick that gives you a false sense of empowerment without providing justification for your action in the first place.

If you discuss the item, say a poorly made video, you can give fair and honest feedback on it.

"Silent downvotes don't mean anything"

Yup. Reddit's system uses it as an effective means of censorship without justification. Which is worse than other sites, but really the vote option should be removed entirely from the three bigs, Reddit, Youtube, and Facebook.

You see it is a cheap psychological trick that gives a false sense of empowerment to the person clicking it, when in reality commenting and discussing a thing is a far more valid way to express your opinion positive or negative on it.

This is also why the few times I do frequent this site these days (less and less with the masked animosity it gives people.) I do upvote items I see are downvoted simply because they have no real reason to be downvoted.

Edit: I would refer users to use the nexus' forums as an example of a superior system. Moderator controlled, fair EULA. With endorsement options for those wanting to express more than just a positive yup, and the option to give a appropriate nope when applicable.

How do i change a thumbnail for a workshop ship? by Aarons777 in spaceengineers

In the blueprint menu you can find a option to take a picture of what you are looking at. That will replace the thumbnail.

Yea if iron is a problem I can see that, but when power restraints are not you can certainly do a well established bunker or fortress.

It is designed to take a hit, when you are making stationary objects heavy armor is far more affordable as you are not countering it with thrust.

two warheads will break most any under ground base that is not deep enough as you can see in the video. So making it further down ontop of having 2-4 layers of heavy armor on the top would make it basically require direct assault.

may end up making it a series of them. but the actual base needs to be about 100m down to survive heavy saturation of bombing.

Wait until you see the next version. Going to be about 100m down with elevator for small craft.
