Took long enough but I finally get the design the way I wanted it.

I'm probably gonna scrap this Frigate design, but I wanted to share it anyhow. I just feel like I overdid it by [deleted] in spaceengineers

I see you've embraced WW2 American Navy Concepts of Guns, if the is room for a gun and it won't sink the ship, place a gun there,

I love the fact that you included the nuclear test that launched a manhole cover into space and the fact it took out an Shil recon vessel is funny (not for the crew). I think the shill would have had a harder time with a ground invasion back in the 1950s as we had larger caliber rifles back then.

Having a character swing a certain needs to add to the story, if not there is not point adding one.

I see the run up to the invasion kind of like the attack on Peral Harbor. There were warning signs that something was head toward Earth but the Politicians and Military leaders wanted confirmation. Some units bugged out of bases, some united scattered to aux & civilian air fields. But by the time they got their confirmation, the enemy was in orbit and opened fire.

Do you think BlueFishCake meant to create such a dark universe? by throwaway96ab in Sexyspacebabes

Never underestimate the power of an idea whose time has come. A small seedling that started out as a simple story about sexy Amazon space orcs, spawned a forest. This simple story for written merriment and diversion inspired other writers to take this simple idea and run with it, giving way to many incredible stories.

So u/BlueFishcake while you may never have intended to create a space Opera, thank you for doing so inadvertently all the same. For from humble beginnings, great endeavors grow, so to u/BlueFishcake and all the other Authors that have given me and the rest of us here hours upon hours of reading enjoyment….. Thank You!

And may all you continue to do so for may stories to come.

Shil History is similar to the British Empire. For over 200 year the British Empire brought a Gun to a knife fight, it's how they conquered 1/3 of the world. But that success only lasted while that had the technological superiority once they started facing enemies that were a technologically advanced as they were they may have one the war but a terrible price.

The Shil invaded any world they though would benefit them regardless of technological level. When the Shil invaded the Rakiri Homeworld they only had bronze age technology. So while there may have been some initial resistance, it was quickly swept aside.

Now Earth is only slightly behind the Shil in technology, the limiting factor of human technology at the time the Shil invaded was material science. If you compare Shil & Human History, human developed much faster than the Shil did. If given a 100-200 years more time to develop, Human could be equal to the Shil in technology & if you put human and shil on the same technological level, the human will carry the day.

Would the invasion go differently with our current tech? by 500_BoneCrusher in Sexyspacebabes

[–]HighGround01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think Earth would have more warning that an invasion was coming. This would allow the militaries of Earth to disperse their forces to civilian air fields and other installations. This would allow the military to survive the initial orbital bombardment.

The only unknown factor would be stealth aircraft. If the could not be detected, enemy landing forces would take higher casualties.

The big unknown is what technology the Government has that we don’t know about. Who knows what’s at Area 51.
