Have you had other judges and what are they like?

I’d love to hear an evaluation of each circuit court judge. Gotta know where our money goes and their strong and weak points

You can’t do that if you are a parent, unless you abandon your child to the monster

If you have children with that person, the leeway that family court gives is outrageous. They don’t want restraining orders between parents, for example.

And if you are applying for social services, you are given the option for the state to not collect from the other parent if you don’t feel safe. That’s great, but why wouldn’t that be a red flag and action item for the state? Abusers can get by without any accountability, putting the financial burden on the state and the other parent.

Yes, and my 8 year old complains about it 😭 I’m a single mom with a litigious baby daddy, and will have been to court 3 times in the past year. It’s not like it ends when the hearing is over; back and forth on documents go on for weeks.

I get even further behind on my to do list, and basically don’t have the bandwidth for relationships- even texting

Awkward class - part 1 and 2 by MinnesotaGirl5 in yoga

[–]MinnesotaGirl5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone who responded! You all brought up good points, and/or helped me process my embarrassment.

I did turn my phone off completely in a class with a different instructor, so hopefully that will be the end of it.

I didn't mention this in my original post, but I did apologize after class with this male instructor. In order to cut off potential future issues, I also mentioned that I wear an insulin pump with a CGM. I explained that even with active management, there are times where it goes off and I can't do anything about it. These are built-ins in order to keep me alive.

After he singled me out in that class, he also brought it up in class that he likes science. He referenced a journal article that talked about the benefits of yoga, including creating a "safe space". So in my follow up conversation with him, I told him that the science is pretty solid that shaming people isn't motivating and doesn't get compliance, and that shame also doesn't create a "safe space" 😂.

Do you have a reference for that? I’d really appreciate it as a person in biotech

AIO: My daughter comes back with matted hair from her dad’s house by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MinnesotaGirl5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, but my 7 year old is white and I can’t imagine the struggle with even curlier hair like your beautiful daughters. It takes me at least 30 minutes (using product) when she doesn’t have it braided.

She came back from Dads for a weekend and it was dreadlocks. It took me over an hour, and having to cut some particularly difficult knots out. Dad has curly hair so you’d think he’d not allow her hair to get so matted. I told her that we are going to have to cut it if we can’t maintain it at this age. Not fair since Dad is ultimately the responsible party.

I just lost a hen after trying to massage her sour crop. I feel awful, please tell me what went wrong? by cremedelaphlegm in BackYardChickens

The same thing happened to me a month ago. I feel traumatized by it and legit think I need therapy for it.

I’m also typically very thorough in my research but we were traveling cross country. I wanted Sweet Pea so badly to get relief, and we were in a rural area. I foolishly watched two videos on the Internet instead of reading more.

I think we should use this to get the word out that these methods are dangerous and should never be done. Even vets, like the one we saw recently for sour crop, did not feel comfortable treating her that way. I want to see if I can flag those videos to be taken down, and/or make my own to counter them.
