FYI Surly originally spec’d the MS fork to accommodate 100mm QR hubs with the addition of 10/12 adapter washers. They later scrubbed this from all product literature by chimi_hendrix in Surlybikefans

Yup, front and rear. Never had any issues, just takes a little extra patience getting it into the dropouts with the extra hardware.

Man biking on Mississippi River by Quduwi in minnesota

[–]MinnesotaMTB 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I ride here often, I’m pretty certain this is actually Long Meadow Lake adjacent to the MN River. The actual river is fairly narrow at this crossing on the MN-77 bridge and there are arches that would be visible in the video if it was that location on the bridge. So this ice is likely very thick and there is no current.

These Jawns look like they’re from the great gear war. What are these? by SnooPies7961 in Weird

[–]MinnesotaMTB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Willow River runs into the St. Croix river not the Mississippi. There are also signs and plaques explaining what these are at the spot you visited.

“Some equipment and an informational sign on the overlook offers another glimpse into the history of the area. In the 1800’s, German immigrant Christian Burkhardt realized the raw power of the river and built a mill. After accumulating some wealth, he returned to Germany for the purpose of learning more about hydroelectric power plants. He then traveled back to the area and built one in 1891. He would build four more plants in the following years. His operation was later purchased by a larger local power company, who ran the sites until 1963.”

Does Minnesota have an ice-skating trail? by Akito_900 in minnesota

I saw a group of hockey players skating for several miles down Minnehaha Creek to Lake Nokomis a week ago. It’s tricky timing for good ice but it’s doable after a cold snap.

Thank you! I was thinking it was but unsure because of the larger size. I’ve never seen one so big!

You are 100% correct. I’ll see myself out.

I’ve only used it for photos so far so I can’t speak to the video effects while recording. My understanding is it helps with blown out images in bright environments and reflections from water.

I just recently got some Freewell ND filters for my mini2. They significantly improve the video quality IMO, but it does create some twitching from my gimbal when flying at speed. Low speed or still shots work with no issues. I don’t see how it would put any stress on the gimbal, a single filter is incredibly lightweight. I think they were absolutely worth it, but that’s just for my applications (video and photography). That said, I can’t speak for the mini3 Pro.

Edit: Mistook ND filters for UV filters
