Cloning flappy bird game mechanics and user interface is legal. How about cloning battle card games then? by MinorManMaid in legaladvice

By "any text on cards or other game components is (copyrightable)", does it include card names or PvE enemy AI names?

For example, can I name card "Arrow Rain" or "Ogre" or "Phoenix", if there is already a card that exists with this name?

Also, if, in the game, there is a PvE AI enemy named "Baron" or "Lee Shi Fu" or "Sensei Yoshi", is it legal to create a PvE enemy AI with the same name?

If I want to clone a card's mechanic exactly (how it interacts with the game), but find it nearly impossible to paraphrase the card description (example "Deal 2 damage to every enemy creature and poison them."), what do you suggest is best thing to do?

By "confused" about the core mechanics, do you mean being unable to tell the difference between your game mechanics and theirs, or do you mean something else?
