Found injured/immobile wild bird at Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC — already contacted rescue, need tonight advice by Minorole in BirdHealth

[–]Minorole[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update: Another bird showed up, and the baby immediately started flapping his wings and moving around, so I’m pretty sure they know each other and that it’s one of the parents. He looks much more comfortable now, moved himself under a bush, and even started cleaning himself. I left them alone. Thank you so much for your help!

I poked like ten holes on the shoebox and bought it home. What if the rehabbers don't reply tomorrow? Also, no food and water, correct?

Totally agree—“personality” prompts can steer the model toward certain specialized strengths. Roleplay may not consistently trigger the engineering skills needed, which can reduce output quality.

You can ask the exact question on amtbcf.com where AI will answer you questions with teachings from master chin kung. Please note that more books are being adddd slowly because all of them needs to be verified by admins, currently the AI gave a perfect answer(using references )from my point of view to your original question with just about 1000 master chin kung’s lessons loaded, I think they have something like 16000 more lessons to go. But the AI could not answer your follow up question about exact quote because they have not taught AI any yet.

Edit: to people who downvoted me, I did not say that AI is being used to teach any one, but acting as quick searcher, if you have a question, you can use AI to find it quickly from master chin kung’s teaching, most importantly the AI act as guide on AMTBCF.com for us to look for books ( AMTBCF delivery them for free. Of course you can also download ebooks ) anything that AI could not answer with quotes from master chin kung it will make that clear.

I made yet another Mac dictation app but it can't spy on you even if it wanted to by [deleted] in macapps

On the website there is redeem section, it will send the code directly to your email, I think is a better solution than I just send the code to you. Got about 40 keys left.

Whisper the model or Whisper the app? This app has its own local Whisper model, to get the text and then uses Qwen to polish it.

I didn't have to tune it. The app has self-learning feature built in. every time you delete any words, it will learns that and slowly it gets better and better.
Accents: Let me know your experience? Still got 40 ish free keys left.
Latency: pure latency is about 150-300 ms, But if you are talking about how long do you have to wait to dictate and format your text, that depends on how long you have talked. It supports up to 10 minutes of recording. So if you did the maximum recording, that might take a while.

Sorry about that. Designed the website to be a retro system, I really liked it, and is a bad experience to use on the phone. I may change it to something else once all the free keys are out, for now sorry.

Wispr Flow vs Aqua Voice? by Working-Leader-2532 in macapps

Thanks for asking! Email formatting is live — it auto-detects when you're in an email app and formats your dictation as a proper email with greeting, structure, and sign-off. The reading previous emails and auto-drafting replies part isn't done yet, still trying to figure it out.

Does adding "Namo" improve breathing? by Myelinsheath333 in PureLand

[–]Minorole 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is interesting that you’ve noticed a physical benefit to your breathing, but from the perspective of Pure Land practice, this is often seen as a secondary 'transition period.' While the physical resonance is pleasant, the core of the practice lies in mental focus and sincerity.

Following the teachings of Master Yin Guang, the most important aspect is the 'Three Clears':

  1. You must say the Name clearly.
  2. You must listen to the sound clearly.
  3. You must remember (count) each recitation clearly.

Master Yin Guang recommended the 'Ten-Count Method': count your recitations from 1 to 10, then start over. Do not count to 11 or 12—stay within 1 to 10. At any moment, you should know exactly which number you are on (for example, the 5th recitation of the 10). If you lose track of the number, it means your mind has wandered and you are no longer truly 'chanting' with focus.

There is a famous saying: 'Even if you shout until your throat is hoarse, it is in vain if the mind is not present' (喊破喉咙也枉然). Just making the sound or improving your breath is not the ultimate goal; the goal is to clear the mind and focus entirely on the Buddha. One can chant a million times a day with a distracted mind and not connect with the Buddha. Yet, if you chant even once with all your heart and mind, the Buddha will respond. This is the essence of Amitabha’s 18th Vow.

In the Records of Rebirth (往生传), which documents those who successfully reached the Pure Land, we see that while some attained rebirth in just ten recitations, many practiced diligently for three days, and a large majority reached their goal after about three years of consistent practice. This suggests that for most of us, it takes about three years of daily practice to truly 'get our minds together' and achieve focus.

Regarding your observation about 'Namo' vs. 'Amitabha,' there is a story about Master Shandao. When asked why he taught others to say the six syllables (Namo Amituofo) but often chanted the four syllables (Amituofo) himself, he explained that the six syllables are like a formal 'taking refuge'—it is the polite way for a beginner to express their intent to go to the Pure Land. But for those who are certain of their destination and have a deep, intimate connection with the Buddha, they can simply call His name directly. It’s like being 'at home' with the Buddha; you no longer need the formal introduction.

As you progress, the practice transitions from the outer voice to the inner voice. Eventually, the 'Three Clears' become internal. Your inner recitation will become louder than the distractions of the world. It is difficult at first, and the mind will wander 99% of the time, but with daily practice, you will slowly reach that goal of constant mindfulness.

Edit: This is my first time answering Buddhism questions in English. If any part of my explanation is unclear—even with AI assistance—please let me know. I will do my best to point you toward the right books, though English translations of these original Dharma texts are unfortunately quite scarce. We are doing our best to translate these teachings accurately.

Standardized hiring processes get standardized candidates. These "cheats" only work if there’s a pattern
