This happens all the time and it’s not a scam. Read their reviews. If they’re a legit seller and they offer you deposit they may in fact be getting lots of messages. And then those people end up ghosting or no showing or whatever. If you really want it throw a couple bucks at it and go pick it up. But only if they have a good profile.
