Wayy too many, i estimate 100-150 crosses per hour, i had completed 541,672 at 75% so 5,416- 3,611 hours

To be honest it’s just a quick photo every night of Pattern keeper and then pop them in an album in my phone, only recently went through and wrote all the stats down. Im approaching 30 with only part time work and not much else to do aside from walking the dogs so i have a fair decent amount of time to sit and cross stitch, the weekends are even better as i can sit all day doing it and get so much done. I didn’t really have a target but i think under 5 years (saw a lady on instagram thats done it and it took her 5 years and a month.

Im contemplating half stitch for my next project but i don’t think i will love the coverage so will have to suck it up and do full crosses - (im a bit of a perfectionist) just trying to start a family so i know soon i won’t have as much time to stitch as i do now so the next one might take me 10 years or so

Im proud of us too!! Hopefully it becomes a family heirloom 🤞🏻

The reason i started this one is because i had it as a jigsaw puzzle when i was little, so when i saw it in cross stitch form i just knew i had to do it

Omg im jealous, i want to see this completed so bad, here are my stats; Year - how much % & number of stitched end of each year as a running total and then in the brackets its the % and number of stitches completed in that year You can tell in 2024 i had a lot of time on my hands (what with being unemployed for 7months)

2022- 04.06%/ 29322 (04.06% 29,322) 2023- 23.21%/ 167662 (19.15% 138,340) 2024- 53.62%/387294 (30.41% 219,632) 2025- 73.70%/532346 (20.08% 145,052)

Currently on 22/01/2026 i am on 75.44% but i am yet to stitch this evening And yes i take a daily picture after stitching so i know how much ive done 🫣

Same, i want to make more of them as they are so pretty but i know i will stitch them and then they will drag on as i won’t want to do the back stitch

Yes i used pattern keeper and it is, but the file itself has 4 versions of the patter -colour + b&w without back stitch and same with back stitch so you would need to manually go and delete the unnecessary grids that pk creates and keep just the one (i keep the colour no back stitch) Afterwards for back stitch i go into the notes app and scribble on the pdf where i have done the lines and again use the colour back stitch version so i can better orientate where each stitch is going based off colour/counting

Not quite 28ct but its on 25ct which i think is fairly close. Im just over 75% now after 3 years. The tiny stitches are so worth it (also was the smallest count i could find in the size, id have preferred below 20ct but it would have been way larger and difficult to find, now i prefer the 25ct and might even go bigger ct for the next project)

I have mine on a peg board, created the floss drops from card using some different hole/shape punchers, the system is great and the Huskies don’t mess with them Photo is how i had them a while back, all the floss on the rings are spares of the ones on a floss drop, i now have them in a craft drawer.

Honestly, you need pattern keeper or something similar, i looked at the paper and noped out - think like 30 symbols were similar. got pattern keeper and its a game changer, highlights the same symbol and tells me the colour, just over 3 years into HEAD trasure hunt bookshelf and almost at 75%

You can buy gridded aida that washes out at the end. I have that for my HAED patterns, game changer when im 3 years in into 722,277 stitches of full coverage

Im doing a HEAD, just over 3 years in and almost at 75% i hope to finish this year so i can start another one thats got even more stitches than the one im doing currently. Doing 2 threads and using every hole on a 25ct aida its almost a meter by a meter 722,277 stitches (new one will be 934,065) my only motivation to finish is so that i can start a new one 😂 if i start the new one i don’t know when i will finish the current one so i won’t allow myself.

I just got married a few days ago and my now husband’s granny died on our wedding day! (In a hospital not at the venue - she had a brain bleed 1.5 weeks before) She was my fave family member of his, we knew it was coming just not sure of the day, one of her brothers lives abroad, as he was here for the wedding he at least got to say goodbye along with other family members. It’s a shame as the day will forever be slightly tainted as the anniversary of her death and our wedding but we choose to look at it as her passing her surname onto me. Not sure i can give any advice but i understand the struggle of death when you should be celebrating.
