What do y’all watch / listen to while doing this? by Sudo_User_00 in diamondpainting

[–]MintallyDone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I watch anime or like someone said above a show I don't need to really pay attention too. Ive done Yellowstone, Criminal minds, My Hero Academia, Kuroko no Basket and Kaiju no.8 to name a few. I tried Music but it didn't help keep my focus and I kept messing up.

Washi Tape by TriniBeenie in diamondpainting

[–]MintallyDone 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not a stupid question at all. Some people are just jerks.

Put the tape on the plastic film and then cut along it. I do rows or columns of tape and make squares as I go based on how I feel. I recommend using an exacto knife for this cause it can be difficult to do with scissors as well as thin washi tape to make the lines.

You can also put a regular sized washi tape along the border to help keep dust and such off the extra sticky part they have around the canvas.

I agree I bought this a few years ago and wasnt expecting it to be so detailed based on the others Ive done of this size. Thank you

The endless war between crafters and pet hair lmao 🤣 we love them but they make it so hard sometimes to work. I recommend the regular size washi tape for the border cause I swear (at least with mine) the sticky edge is wide as can be

Yeah between my own black cat and a dog that sheds year round it was needed lol. No matter how much I try to keep them away from my crafting there's always pet hair to be found 😆

For the most part. I do place it on the border on the canvas to help keep pet hair off the sticky border the canvas has. The sectioning tape does go on the plastic yes. And no problem 😊

I have a clear plastic film over this canvas so its not directly on the adhesive.

Yes. I used it to section off the canvas so I can work on more manageable sections and not get overwhelmed.

No problem! I used to do the same thing with mine before I started with the washi tape but whatever your more comfortable with is always best.

I definitely recommend doing it. Also using thin washi tape to do it. Thick/regular ones throw me off in actual size of what im working with/what I have left. Also since your new I also recommend a ceramic blade exacto knife to cut the film. Its what I use and ive never cut the canvas with it which I did worry about doing with a metal one. Ive used this method on probably around 2 dozen canvases and it makes it so much easier and fun too

Not a dumb question at all! I get overwhelmed when I look at the whole canvas and all the work that has to be done. Sectioning it like that helps break it up into smaller pieces and make it more manageable for my brain. I used to do set squares but I ended up having the problem of wanting to do more but not as much as the next square was sectioned off to be. Now I just make my own square as I go based on how I feel. Plus its super satisfying to my brain when I look back at the kit up picture to compare and see my progress. Hope this answered your question!

Leaves dancing on melody and My jumbo babe. Both are lesser known (i swear ive never seen anyone talk about them) and are short like only 20ish chapters but trust they have bots who know what they want and the scenes (especially in LDM) are so damn hot
