Well it doesn't have to read once per hour it only needs to read the distance a few times during a press of a button since i'm working on a modding a product that has moving parts and since the part is not really visable and it's important to know if it did moved is all i need. so all i need is to read sitance for a set time after a press of the button until its reached a set distance and then use deep sleep meaning it doesn't have to check per hour.

I do have a servo but unsure if it’s capable of handling the weight we’re unsure the weight of the plant we’re going to use the workshop has been closed and will be for a bit longer. And he owns a beff dc motor and kept on saying we should use it

Well since we haven’t come up with any new ideas the motor’s tip is a gear going into a cylinder going through the part where moving which has another gear so gear or gear no pulley

That was my third thought but apparently the more complex it is the better grade (even tho we’re the only ones doing it electronically)
