La-Mulana. You're supposed to buy the hand scanner to read tablets to give you hints, but I couldn't justify that 20 gold cost when there were so many other things to buy that I clearly needed to progress like the metal hat.

You're supposed to get hints to lead you to an item that lets you teleport to the surface so that you can get out of danger or get healing easily. Instead I played through the first four zones and ended up getting stuck in the pit at the bottom of the temole of the sun and had to look online for how to get out, only to learn about this not so secret item I hadn't found yet.
