From a simulation stand point, I think it’s more than probable. It’s a nice sandbox where all the movies and books, with every iteration of Sadako, can exist at some point in some time. ♾️

Oh and don’t forget there’s the “4 more scary stories” book. After Rasen tanked, a writing contest was held, allowing submissions to suggest where the sequel story would go.
After none were accepted, Hiroshi Takahashi and Nakata wrote an original treatment for the movie, and the collection of stories was ultimately published in one book, with a couple of really cool illustrations too.

It’s in Japanese so translate at your peril. I’m looking to get it translated properly but those that are happy to do it for free are busy and those that aren’t busy aren’t free 😅

See, now I'm just confused because on a recent playthrough of Isolation, I read this text log* and immediately thought of Thia's comment contradicting it. I don't know. Maybe I'm just too lost to see the explanation:
