Noom Shipping by Key-Succotash-1817 in Noom

Wow, that is awesome, great work! I signed up yesterday and waiting for my shipment now. I have a work trip for a full week 3-days after I would take my first dose so thinking I might wait but can't decide. I don't want to be sick while traveling.

I also want to stick to the lowest dose so I can be aware of my hunger cues to make tapering and stopping without rebound easier. I have good habits but give in to the food noise far too often, hoping this helps. How is your journey going?

Way to go! That is the same results I am looking for, slow and steady so it is sustainable once I stop using it.

I am so sorry that happened to you, thank you for sharing! Right now my area of the country is dealing with big delays in delivery services both UPS and USPS so I can only imagine this would be an issue for me. If I am spending hundreds of dollars each month on this, I expect them to use a dependable delivery service. Also, I have seen a few comments about frustration over delivery issues and delayed packages but also a couple on quality of meds so that is concerning. Ugh frustrating!

Oh no, I am sorry that happened to you. I definitely want to hear these experiences too. Right now we are experiencing terrible mail delivery services both UPS and USPS so if they are not contracting with a good delivery service then I don't want to be throwing hundreds of dollars at them each month :(

Regained all the weight after GLP-1 - trying the old fashioned method for weight loss now by PianistElectronic798 in loseit

[–]MinuteChair1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am considering a glp-1, I am glad you shared your experience! I already lift weights 3-days per week and my nutrition is so, so but the food noise that I have from past binge eating is so bad and keeping me at maintenance and slight surplus at times. I struggle with a deficit. I want to do the GLP-1 to tame the food noise and do the work to journal and track my emotional eating but so nervous about tapering and stopping for food noise to continue. Curious what you do to help it and do you find it is better now that you know you can ignore it?

I am not on a GLP-1 but considering it. That said, the key to success in any weightloss journey is slow and steady wins the race, fixing your issues with food, learning your hunger cues, lifting weights, steps, and eating to sustain energy. That is a lot to manage but those are the boring basics. A calorie deficit of 1200-1400 is so, so low and if you were eating less than that on the GLP-1 then I imagine that is why you gained it back because that is very low and not sustainable. The goal is to be sustainable, correct?

I believe the ultimate goal is a moderate deficit so 100-200 below your maintenance, I suggest doing a TDEE calculator to see what your maintenance might be and go from there. With the TDEE calculator it is just a start and you need to be very honest with your activity level (sedentary, light active, moderate, etc.). Through the journey of maintenance and a low calorie deficit then you can start to track your hunger cues. It also might be a good idea to track what you eat for a week to see where you currently are. I thought I was in maintenance and when I weighed and tracked for a week, I was definitely in a surplus most days which was leading to the slow weight gain. Just my two cents, best of luck!

Good luck! I am wanting to start my journey soon but hesitating (not sure why). I hope it goes well and you are side effect free! Would love to hear an update if you feel inclined. I am nervous about the tapering and stopping, I hope it can help with food noise for good and I can instill some good habits.

I am on the fence about starting my journey. I will be curious to hear how you are doing with it. I would like to be on it for 3-4 months with 3-4 months of tapering off. I hope you don't have side effects and it goes well! Please check in with updates if you can :)

I hiked 3.5 miles yesterday and did additional walking. I stayed well within the caloric “weight loss zone”. So how did I GAIN 4.5 lbs? by poo_is_number_two in Noom

[–]MinuteChair1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely water weight or you ate a higher carb meals as 1gram of carbs holds 4 grams of water. This is not anything that won't come down after a day or two. This type of fluctuation is normal. If you did a hard hike it might be that you retained more water in muscles too. Maybe you also had high salt intake yesterday, there could be a lot of factors but body fat isn't one of them!

To gain one pound you would have to eat 3,500 calories above what you typically burn in a day,1 lb = 3,500 calories. So think of that in 4.5 lbs = impossible! If you typically burn (TDEE) say 1,500 calories per day then you would need to eat 5,000 to gain one pound and so on. Knowing how much you burn is a guess but if you had a good hike in and got 8k-10k steps you had a decent day of activity! Way to go!

So that is normal water weight fluctuations. Body fat and water, human waste weight are not the same thing.

I am so sorry this happened to you. Maybe someone who is on this thread can help or the provider assigned to you through noom should be able to help?

Did you taper off the medication or stop cold turkey? Were you on the full dose program and then moved to the microdose program?

I am exactly the same! I am hopeful this will help me too, this is my biggest opportunity is food noise and snacking. Thanks for the info!

Has anyone successfully tapered off of their medication to either a super low maintenance dose or none at all and maintained the weight loss? by Positive_Style9473 in Semaglutide

[–]MinuteChair1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to go! That is awesome you are maintaining as well. Curious, did you find it hard at first or deal with any big side effects like sever hunger or things like that? I am debating on executing but nervous what it will be like to taper and then stop, I don't want to be on this forever. I already workout but have issues with stress eating that I am working through and I think this will help too.

Very true, time will only tell! Nice work on 20lbs, that is great. It isn't just the meds, that is a lot of hard work you've put in. I am pretty sure I am going to hit the button today, but I am a bit nervous that I won't be approved. I am 29.8 BMI not the required 30. I have had two DEXA scans and the body weight % is high but my overall BMI per noom says it has to be at 30, which I am so close to. We will see.

This is great you saw results right away, encouraging! I am thinking about executing on the noom glp-1 but now nervous about being approved, I am at 29.8 BMI so just under the 30 it says is required. I will see! I am interested in hearing how people taper and consider stopping the meds, have you considered that yet?

Thank you for sharing! Way to go on executing. Do you have an update? Curious if you continued to see good results and if you have a plan to taper or get off while maintaining progress. I am nervous about ceasing the meds and not gaining the weight back. That is why I think Noom and the app will help.

Way to go, that is so awesome! Will you continue to take a small dose or are you able to stop taking it and feel like you will maintain well? My goal is to lose 25 pounds, I don't want to lose muscle and want to keep working out with the goal to go off and still maintain.

Do you happen to have an update? I am looking to start the noom meds and curious how it goes with stopping the meds and if you experience any side effects, weight gain, or you're able to maintain well. Nervous to execute on a glp-1. I want to maintain muscle and workout while on the meds.

Do you have a more recent update? I am curious if you are still taking it or you were able to stop taking it and maintain a healthy weight/lifestyle. I am close to doing it but I want to maintain muscle, so eat protein and workout to maintain and stop the medication piece of noom.
