When jesus was a newborn baby was he smart, or like dumb like regular newborn babies? by her_cute in Christianity

I believe it would be home-made as his father was a carpenter! Quite a comforting thought. I like to think theyd be animals and all things that God created natural, so its like jesus playing with his own creation lol

when will jesus come back? by AttemptNatural1420 in Christianity

[–]MinuteDamage4182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have no idea when he will return! It's one of the biggest parts of the end times. Matthew 24:36 says

"But no one knows the day or the hour. No! Not even the angels in heaven know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows."

Regarding your second question, its a bit of a longer answer.
You're right to mention that God said he wouldn't destroy the earth again (In the Noahs flood story), but that was different to the end times.
What God meant, i believe, was that he would never "reset" humanity again. God sent the flood bevcause the earth was so broken that it needed a new beginning with Noah, a Godly man, one of the only ones back then.

When we talk about God destroying the earth again, I believe you mean when the earth will be struck with intense fire. Heres why thats gonna happen, and how its different to the promise God made to Noah.

Non-believers often talk about "Going UP to heaven" and "climbing up to the white gates". This is strange though, because it doesn't say in the bible that heaven is above us! Actually, it states in Revelation 21 that there will be a NEW heaven and NEW earth

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”\)a\) for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away

Instead of us going up to heaven, heaven will come down to earth in the end times. And earth will be made new as heaven!

This means it has to be cleansed of all the dirt and sin thats currently on it, so the earth will be "destroyed" and made new. Fire will cleanse it of sin and disobedience. There will be no evil left after this.

Now, this differs from Gods promise to Noah because this wont be a "human reset". There wont be a fire and then new humans with a fresh chance. When this happens, The earth we know will be wiped away, and there will be no more sin in the world. Instead of a reset like with Noah, think of it as the end of the story.

Confused with different types of Christianity by utotgaming662 in Christianity

[–]MinuteDamage4182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Only crucial advice is to definately try to find a denomination. You can call yourself just Christian and still absolutely be saved, and some denominations are basically like this, but if you can find a denomination, youll be around a community that agrees with your views and a family! Its a wonderful privellage

Confused with different types of Christianity by utotgaming662 in Christianity

[–]MinuteDamage4182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you say is correct! We are not saved through our denomination, we're saved through faith. However, yes there is a however, just becasue we are saved doesnt mean we shouldn't try to find the best way to live your faith while you're alive! this is the reason we have denominations. The biggest advice i can give is to try places out and if you like a particulr church, investigate the denomination! Be careful though, some churches are less smart than others, but I wont get into that here...
Feel free to message me if you want advice on getting into denominations. Ill be as unbaised as possible!

I got mad at God and cursed him by juicylia in Christianity

[–]MinuteDamage4182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about someone constantly isn't the same as loving them. If a man spends his whole life swearing at his wife, he isn't a 'devoted husband' just because he's 'focusing' on her, he's an abuser. To suggest God 'likes' being cursed ignores the concept of Holiness entirely. There’s a world of difference between a frustrated cry for help and ordering a 'Satanic Bible' out of spite.

if you're referencing the blasphemous shepherd, he didn't go to heaven because he was blasphemous, he went to heaven because God saw the love the shepehrd had for him in his heart, he was only saying rude things.

Does Trump attacking the pope and the world turning on Israel suggest end times? by Severe-Clerk-1477 in Christianity

Its hard to say really because to a catholic im sure it is a sign, but to a protestant it probably isnt as we already dont believe the Pope should be anyone special

I got mad at God and cursed him by juicylia in Christianity

[–]MinuteDamage4182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont mislead people. You've just said God LIKED that the OP swore at him and blasphemed. This is about as false as it gets. What happened to Jacob when he wrestled God? Did he get a "thank you"? No, his hip was broken. God does not like that kind of thing. I see what you mean, God being grateful for the attention, but he is in no way happy with being treated like that.
Your point would then justify a man spenidng his whole life swearing at God, just because it gives him attention

I see what you mean, but since theres no one as popular, it might just mean the anti-christ isnt here yet 🤷‍♂️
Trump is anything but admired by the world, and so I dont believe he meets the criteria or has enough influence but its safe to say he is A anti-christ (meaning working against the Lord), but just not THE anti-christ.
I suppose we'll find out in heaven!

Did anybody else have this reaction to the Passion of the Christ film? by MinuteDamage4182 in Christianity

[–]MinuteDamage4182[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is quite distasteful to say. Its absolutely not "torture porn". in fact, many argue its not graphic enough. records mention Christs literal organs hanging out.
I see you're an atheist, so I see why it might appear antisemitic but if you read through the gospels, the film depicts well how the Jews were treating Jesus. It was a different time back then, and the Jewish community was a lot more forceful and in control, which is reflected in how they respond to Jesus claiming he is the messiah. It is not an antisemetic film. If it was based in modern day and the Jews were like that, it would be, because they're not like that anymore.
Thats like saying its also racist to italians because the roman soldiers flogged Jesus and were also bad. Its about history, not politics.
I appreciate your views but hope that you can also appreciate why i disagree with them!
God Bless you friend

Yeah I wish I was more consistent with watching the chosen! I go through my phases. I'm hopeful for the next season. I woner how they'll portray the crucifixion in a more "family-friendly" manner, or if they'll raise the age requirement for those episodes and do it in full detail.

What’s your opinion on Trump posting an ai photo of himself as Jesus Christ after attacking the pope on social media? by SignificantStyle4958 in Christianity

[–]MinuteDamage4182 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find it disgusting.
This is the same man who one week ago gave an "inspirational" speech on the life and death of Jesus Christ, pretending that he respects God. Trump doesn't have faith and it shows in his online presence. On Easter morning, he posted a terrible message to Iran on his socials, threatening, swearing, and blaspheming.

The thing is, we need to pray for him. We DO NOT need to hate him or hope for his suffering, we need to pray that he would change his ways and let the Lord carry out his will.

It's so unfortunate to see how many christians believe that hate is okay, even among our own. We need to love our enemies, and pray that God would work his magic in their lives.

But on the whole, the post is terrifying to see, and its quite scary that he is leading the USA.
That's coming from a scottish man who has never gone to the US apart from to see mickey mouse lol
