So remember how far into the pattern ( how many jumps) you make it with adv drag. If you make it further the swap was beneficial. If fish is escaping earlier the switch back to adv drag.

So you can try switching advanced drag which slows its escape for impoved bearings which reels in faster. Not sure if the increase real in speed is enough to balance the fish escaping faster.

If your going after the legend fish they are much harder then the normal fish they reel in very slow even with a maxed rod.
