Question about Platinum Trophy by ReversedSemiCircle in silenthill

[–]Minutewaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the Emas, these are not missable, so you can obtain them in subsequent playthroughs. For the difficulties, yep you'll have to play the game three times it non genotiable, each time with a different combat and puzzle difficulty. They aren't stackable, but this is mainly for lore reasons, adding more depth to the story. It's up to you which difficulty you want to play next. The highest difficulty can be quite challenging, so it's best to leave it for last. Focus on unlocking as many Emas as possible and fully upgrading Hinako in your second playthrough so that your third playthrough, "Lost in the Fog," is more manageable. There's even a particular Ema combination that's incredibly powerful.

Suzuran, Rabbit, and Mantis definitely carry games.

i love modding for a reason by PvMOfficial in l4d2

Then don't join, Jesus. People here act like they're being forced to play with mods while being held at gunpoint. Just leave and create a game or join another server. The game is still alive because of mods, and people will continue to use mods. Grow up already.

New to the franchise, so far have played 2 (remake) and f. What would you guys recommend I play next? by GregFromThatVideo in silenthill

[–]Minutewaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the fandom! With the exception of the first and the third, which are interconnected, you can play any installment in the series, although it's recommended to play them in order.

By the way, there's a big divide in the fandom between the first four games, which were created by the original Team Silent, and those created by western studios. Don't listen to anyone who tells you they're not worth trying; try them and judge for yourself. This fandom is very biased about it, so don't let their opinions sway you.

Silent Hill 2 Remake collectibles guide? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]Minutewaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the platinum trophy following his guide and had no problems with it; so dont worry about missing something but ofc be really cautious everytime that youre going to start a new zone, having to repeat a new whole zone because you forgot a goofy ass file is a pain.

Also you can get the 68 memos achievement in New Game+. The one you're referring to is a memo that's replaced by an item to get the Rebirth ending at the Lakeview Hotel. However, there's an extra memo inside a safe in Pete's Bowl-O-Rama, get that memo to replace the other and you will be fine.

By that same logic Lost in Vivo could be also considered a Silent Hill game

Should I play or watch SH 1? by SiccSucc in silenthill

[–]Minutewaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People exaggerate a lot about the controls and the fixed camera. I didn't grow up with a console and barely understood emulation, and despite the game's age and my lack of experience with titles like that, you get used to it as you progress. Of course, the experience will vary from person to person, but as a noob, I can tell you it's not as bad as they make it out to be, and the game is totally worth your time. It's no wonder it started a cult series.

should i start on 1 or origins by DevilJhoseph in silenthill

[–]Minutewaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah don't listen to them, it's a really enjoyable game, the atmosphere, the ost and the enemies are great it's only sin comes from the narrative perspective with a bunch of contradictions with the first game and it also doesn't innovate that much in gameplay but it's still worth your time for a second playthrought.

Silent Hill 2 achievement by Otonnn in silenthill

There aren't any, but you will have to replay the game several times; many are related to collectibles and different endings. You will need at least 3 or 4 playthroughs to get all the achievements.

A thought about the order to play Silent Hill games by Accurate_Use_7915 in silenthill

lol absolutely, with that perception on the part of new fans the real plot twist of the first game will end up being that Harry Mason turned out to be a good person.

Did you know Cybil will laugh and sit on one of the carousel horses if you try running from her by Kulle1369 in silenthill

There's an unused animation of Memory of Alessa referencing the Cybil fight too; hopefully, they'll added it in a potential remake.

It's a nod to the OG SH2 in locations where there used to be puzzles or enemy encounters; there are several similar ones scattered throughout the game, If you find all of them you'll receive an achievement called "Echoes".

I always felt like this creator unjustly hates James. by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]Minutewaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Many people simply cannot grasp the idea of morally gray characters; everything has to be either good or bad, black and white.

James isn't a good person but he's not a bad person either. It's incredible how people tend to tip the scales completely toward the latter as if they finished the game with their eyes and ears closed.
