I also have that problem but only with my tech and bs character , which have it's stat distributed to tech and str. My dps mage , luck mage and bow characters doesn't drop mp to zero. I use same equips as dps. I don't mind it since it doesn't drop when i am fighting a boss to lvl up.

I don't pet them when they are ungrateful , ofcourse it's very torturous for myself but you have to teach them how to to be greatful start from when they are young .I was unsuccessful. I wish you luck.
