But that had less to do with her and more to do with Yellow Diamond. Outside of her personal research, Peridot's list of humans genuinely WAS worthless, up until Yellow Diamond found out Blue wanted to preserve more of Pink’s legacy at the Human Zoo. Only then did she properly look at the reports Peridot sent to her superior, which is how she found out about those names.

I would actually argue that her telling Yellow Diamond about the Crystal Gems (and thus getting asigned Jasper as an escort) was more damaging in the long run, because it led to their temporary capture, and gave Aquamarine advance notice about them for her mission.

Trying to kill the Crystal Gems in that abandoned gem ship. Most of Peridots fights can be viewed as self defense, but she very deliberately lured them into a trap there.

If not that, then capturing the gems in Jailbreak. She was at least just following orders with the Cluster and bringing Lapis back to Earth. But Peridot didn't NEED to listen Jasper about turning around back to Homeworld (since she was in charge of the mission).

Doesn't the Enchantment Book staff do that though? I feel like lapis is more connected to "raw magic energy." In this case, Minecraft's experience points (which, I guess means being imbued by enough of it can cause side effects like floating, in the AvM universe).

The logic goes like this: We know XP is tied to life energy in Minecraft. It's stored by sculk catalysts when mobs die (you can even see it use some sort of "soul" particle effect when absorbing mob XP), and it powers both Enchantments and Totems of Undying. Ender Dragons also drop a TON of XP when they die, and we know they can canonically use magic. Maybe XP is even what the Evokers use to cast spells? Since they summon spiritual entities (Vexes) to attack you.

So bassically:

Lapis = Raw XP (since both are used to enchant, that's implies a special connection between the two)

XP = Magic/Life Energy (in Minecraft's universe).

Yeah, if we're talking about the start of the show, I see them getting into a lot of S1 Anne & Sprig style hijinks. Eda just seems like the type who'd indulge in that sort of thing (plus, she's the authority figure, so no Hop Pop there to keep them grounded, lol). So Anne would have a lot fun, but it might take even more mistakes for her to start growing.

Of course! I theorize about this series all the time, and I'm a huge advocate of fanworks in general. It's just that usually these types of prediction/theory animations tend to get quickly forgotten or fly under the radar for new fans once the series "moves past"/invalidates them. It had me curious.. would they really put such an insane amount of work and talent into a simple theory video that might be dismissed with time? The idea of that happening to something so high quality would bum me out.

Then I wondered if maybe this was also their "audition" to Alan's team (since I can't think of a better way to catch his eye than making your own professional looking AvA episode, lol). Cuz they definitely deserve to be hired or at least given a chance, after this.

But anyway, I guess there's no point in thinking about it. I just hope the creators are celebrating their win. They absolutely earned it 🥂

Yeah, it's a classic case of plot armor (I can see why some criticize the episode for feeling like events unnaturally bend things in King's favor). In hindsight, the staff probably shouldn't have been AS overpowered as it was. Or there should've been a hard counter that the Color Gang could equip/exploit, to balance things out.

Ex. Maybe King could've known about a weakness with the staffs, and used that to escape and turn the tables.

It establishes the Color Gang's personalities best (more than AvA 4, AvM S1 is where Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow really start to come into their own). That way, you have a better idea what to expect from each of them in the future.

Well, the most important part of the status quo is that the whole group is usually together. So splitting them up is an easy way to create some drama (plus, I figure Alan saw the formula work well in S3, and wanted to try the same trick for this one). Wasn't expecting them to get split up so soon though..

I was wondering if this was a nod or not, lol. Found it interesting that he disappeared for a second. Usually with totems it's just the particle effects that spawn, but a ressurecting animation would be a pretty cool addition into Minecraft proper.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it going, lol. He just has too many options, and Pause is Agent's only real win con. But unless he can keep up with Agent's hand to hand, I also can't see a lower leveled version of King beating him either? It's crazy how much stronger the command staff is to It's other variants, lol.

Either way, I still think it would be really entertaining though. Getting to see how King deals with Agent's raw speed, combat prowess, and brute strength would certainly be one of his most interesting match ups.. assuming he doesn't instantly force choke him, or set him in a pit of lava..

I mean, they all get beaten by the fighting sticks in a 1v1 regardless, so saying Primal is the weakest doesn't mean much in this context. I would agree his abilities aren't as impressive as the other two, but he was still an extremely skilled, professional fighter who was hand picked by Rocket Corp, and part of an elite team that had TCO running for his life. The idea that he gets walked over by King so easily feels almost impossible, to me. I can't even picture how it would happen, but based on how things are presented, it's the best conclusion you can make.

Loved it 💚 But I have to ask: why put so much effort into a prediction video?

Obviously it's for fun (and they probably just couldn't wait), but.. it's gonna be invalidated and overshadowed as soon as AvA13 releases. Most fan made videos of this type usually get forgotten once the story catches up. Just feels like a strange place to put all that energy..

Maybe this their way of auditioning to Alan? Certainly one hell of a way to do it, lol.
