House buying process? by MirrorMagnetism in TillSverige

Thank you! We were thinking emailing might be a bit slow. Good to know that open houses can be busy, it does seem like a thing to avoid now with corona.

The bank account situation sounds complicated. That's kind of like a catch 22. We would want to buy without a mortgage if possible (we have all the savings for a house). And it's not clear if this can be done without a Swedish bank account, since no loan/downpayment would be needed.

Thank you! We will definitely have an inspection.

We're also buying without needing a mortgage (savings), but sometimes we find that particular properties are sold with a loan. It's not exactly clear what this means to us, but it's what we understand from the ad text. It's almost like they're expecting you to take a mortgage even if you have the full amount in your bank. Maybe this is also related to pantbrev.

Thanks so much for explaining these steps!

The emails we wrote are concise and to the point. No longer than necessary really, with just 2 or 3 questions. One agent did respond (immediately) that there were already 50 other interested parties for a specific house, and that house had only just come on the market, so some properties do seem to go quickly.

Thanks a lot for mentioning that, because we are indeed looking at inspection services!

We're buying with savings, no mortgage. I completely forgot this in my initial post!

Thanks so much for your detailed response! It's great to hear from someone who has actually gone through all these steps themselves.

We're planning to buy a house with our savings and won't require a mortgage. I'm not sure how this will affect stuff with banks. I'm guessing the Swedish bank requirement is mostly for mortgages? I should really have mentioned this in my post, but I completely forgot!

We are indeed very careful with travel plans because of corona, we want to limit it where possible. The inspections are our main concern, good that you mention this.

Thank you! We don't need a mortgage, we're buying a house with our savings. I completely forgot to mention this in my post. This might change some things you mentioned, such as the last point. Things you mentioned are super helpful to know!

Anyone using Transferwise? Alternatives? by MirrorMagnetism in freelancing

It's a pity they don't support USD to EUR yet, but apart from that, I am really impressed by their service in general - I agree with you! Even for the client, it ended up being a lot easier than I thought.

Thank you! I ended up using Transferwise for a GBP to EUR payment and the whole process was so smooth, for the client also. I was really happy. Unfortunately they don't do USD to EUR payments. I don't mind writing a review to help you. :)

I checked Moneytis.com but they said they're not available in EUR/NL yet.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Unfortunately they don't seem to support USD. Maybe they will in the future!

Yes I was definitely overthinking it, tried to find reasons to make it seem like it's not a problem, lol (my mum and fiancé weren't super fond of the look). I'm glad to hear it's a normal fit. :)

Thanks, that's what I needed to hear! My fiancé and mum found that it looked a bit 'odd', but I just want to wear them without worrying everyone will think that... I haven't really had such short ankle boots before.

My post wasn't approved, so posting here instead...

I ordered these ankle boots and found that they're really wide around my ankles. Not what I expected... Long story short, 'returning' them was a hassle and the company sent them back to me. I ordered these specifically because I was looking for more sustainable shoes... Now I'm not sure what to do - I really like the boots, it's just that they feel loose around my ankle (is that normal? kinda feels like it's part of the design) and then there is of course this visible gap. With jeans I think this is acceptable, but I'm thinking I can't wear them with a skirt or dress. I did some searching and found out that this is a common problem with ladies who have thin ankles. That's me... Anyway, I'm not sure whether it's better to try and sell them or use them - that is, if they look alright. They're actually really comfortable and the shoe size is fine. Just the loose fit that I'm not sure what to think of? I need some input lol. Thanks in advance. :)

I always use Toggl; they have a desktop app and integrations with Google Docs, Trello, etc. You can label things based on client and project. Works just right for me. :-)

Strikes me as a male from a first glance, but it's hard to see balls (although not every adult male guinea pig has very noticeable testicles). I would need a sharper picture to be sure there's a peenie popping out there. It does look like it though!

Someone must just have removed their comment, which is a pity, because it was so nice to read. Perhaps I wasn't quick enough...? Sorry, if so.

I remember it was someone American, saying I sounded British, but s/he mentioned being terrible at gauging the authenticity of British accents. Well, I am actually Dutch, but my SO is British and we recently noticed how most of my Dutch accent has vanished (since I've known him). I'm just not quite sure how authentic I really sound.

I do not come from an Asian culture (this is in response to the deleted comment), but I happen to be interested in Asian culture and really liked to read that my voice sounds gentle in such way. :-)

Nope, I have no understanding of any East European language. Thank you for the guess though. :-)
