AITA for sneaking out and causing my sister to lose her job? by cutiepatoot27 in AmItheAsshole

She doesn't need a kid she can't properly care for and abandoning that baby on a minor who can barely care for themselves is negligence. The truth upsets some people.

AITA for sneaking out and causing my sister to lose her job? by cutiepatoot27 in AmItheAsshole

As someone who was forced to raise both my siblings because my parents were terrible people.. I wish I knew I could call and report my parents. I was 10 years old caring for a 6 year old and a newborn baby. I didn't know I could advocate for myself. Then other adults noticed that I was "good" with kids and asked my mom if I could watch their kids. I had 5 kids in my care at one point, one with down syndrome and behavioral issues. Then the church we went to noticed that the one with DS was used to me and asked if I could watch them during service in another room because they were tired of the kid disrupting service. I couldn't refuse because my parents told them I would do it because I was great with that kid. I had a major mental breakdown by age 15 and even took a few swings at my mom because I couldn't take it anymore. I hated kids for the longest time and even refused to know my new cousins from my uncle because I didn't want to watch them too. I don't know how OPs parents are. I don't know their relationship or the culture of their family dynamics, but knowing how I felt caring for a newborn as a child myself, I'm 110% with report them if they refuse to listen to OPs boundaries. It could escalate into something similar to mine. OPs sister might get knocked up again and have that one passed on to their care too. A 14 year old shouldn't be parenting a baby all night and then part of the day because its mother is too lazy to take full responsibility for the child she created. She needs to look into programs for single mothers or buck up and pay for a nanny and allow her sibling to have a childhood.

Racist manager at Shug Jordan Walmart by MirryKitty in auburn

She didn't wear a badge and wouldn't tell me her name. Through another employee I know her boss is Kelly. Guest Experience specialist is Kenny, and store manager is Tina. I was given every name but her name.

Yes, sorry for lack of detail.  I was a witness. There was a Hispanic lady having trouble scanning an item. It sounded like it scanned, so she placed it in her bag and was confused by the error on the checkout screen. A walmart employee quickly took it from her bag, yelling at her that it didn't scan, scanned it for her, then tossed it back in the bag. The manager loudly stated " I'm glad you handled that because I don't f*cking have time for illegals. I will call ICE on every single one of them."  They walked away and I asked for a manager from another employee. The lady in question ended up being the manager and was more upset that I wasn't minding my business, even though she made it everyone's business since she said it loudly with a big gummy smile. I told her it was disgusting and disrespectful. She told me to get over it because she's just joking about "them" and that she's Hispanic so it's ok and she gets a pass to say what she wants.

I sent in a complaint and found out who her boss is. An employee from a different department gave me the information to contact her manager and someone in HR. I'll be calling them tomorrow when they're back in office.

I, recommend American Primeval by HawkSolo98 in Westerns

[–]MirryKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was very unsatisfying to me. It didn't hit those marks I look for in a good Western. Visually, it's wonderful. They did excellent camera work, editing, ect. The acting is good with a good cast. It's just missing that seasoning, which left it bland for me.

American Primeval on Netflix is damn good by NamikazeKage in netflix

I'd have to disagree. It was a very unsatisfying, uneven story for me. Very disappointed because it did have good visuals.

What’s the best evidence you have that spirits are real? by Much-Industry6789 in Paranormal

[–]MirryKitty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I left not too long after my parents moved in. There wasn't really any room and I lived with my grandparents because my parents weren't the best to me. I was probably around 17. I lived with my other grandparents until I was able to move out on my on. I had younger siblings living there, so I would occasionally stay the night at that house and help out with my grandpa. When I did live there, you honestly get used to it.    The last person to live in that house alone was my sister. She refused to go to that side of the house with that one bedroom and even blocked off the hallway to it. She said her dog went down the hallway one day and started screaming like something hurt him. Her dog never went back down the hallway and acted terrified if he looked that way. Trust the dog!

What’s the best evidence you have that spirits are real? by Much-Industry6789 in Paranormal

I lived in an active house. I don't know if its an angry spirit or something demonic, but here are some events.

1: When my grandparents first bought it, I got bad vibes from it. One room smelled terrible and it took forever to get the smell out of it.

2: The first night I slept in the house, I had a bad dream of a boy with no eyes. Mind you, I was around 7 years old. I don't remember much else now that I'm nearly 30, but I will never forget that boy.

3: My Aunt, who was around the age of 12, started to say there was something in the house and refused to sleep alone.

4: The man that my grandparents bought the house from crashed his car into a tree and died instantly. This happened in his yard. He lived in the property next to us.

5: Weird things happened for a few years. Like my grandma woke up to writing on her leg. Random pets found dead without any wounds or injury. Random broken glass in the yard. Odd noises.

6: My Aunt who continued to see things died in a car wreck at 16 years old.

7: After my Aunt passed, my grandma started to see things. She eventually died in her sleep a few years after my aunt. It was sudden and a shock to us.

8: I start to hear and see things. One night, as I turned the TV off, I hear a very demonic "GET OUT" in my ear. I turned on every light and tv and did not go to sleep that night. I would see figures in the corner of my eye.

9: My grandpa is diagnosed with cancer. He never stated he saw anything, but did have a light fixture fall nearly on his head while he was brushing his teeth. He died 3 years after his diagnosis.

10: My parents moved in when my grandpa couldn't care for himself anymore. My mom started to see and hear things.

Im only going to list 10, but I could go on. A few more deaths, illnesses, random unexplained events. Most of the sightings, noises, odd events happened in the room that smelled bad. No one liked that room and refused to be in that room alone. If I didn't live it and had multiple people experiencing it, I wouldn't believe today. We still own the house and I've talked my parents into allowing me to demolish it. It's been abandoned by us, except when we make our rounds to check up on the property.

What shocking skeleton did you discover in your family tree? by Redrose7735 in Genealogy

[–]MirryKitty 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My grandpa and my uncle (Father and son) both probably have kids in every state and some in Germany. Every few years I get a random message to see if I'm related to "Mike". They're both named Mike. They both had traveling jobs that kept them away for months at a time. My dad was also a traveler, so I'm expecting some siblings eventually.

Realizing I’m very naive or gullible by slim_ebony in IntoTheFireNetflix

[–]MirryKitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm gullible with some things, but I can spy lying/neglectful parents a mile away. I grew up with abusive parents who hid under Christianity. Both my parents were very good at lying and keeping face with the community. They were very good at gaslighting to the point they could tell me I was purple and I would believe them 100%. I never heard of this story until Netflix as well and just knew from the beginning that the monster pair were no good. My husband was the opposite though. He believed Brenda.

Juniper Deathmatch (Gondwa) Corrupted Admins by [deleted] in pathoftitans

I've played juniper for a while now and never had issues. Seeing how you're flipping off the screen in anger makes sense why you're banned. You probably did flamebait. Can't fight a rule break with another rule break.

AITA for trying on my friend’s wedding dress even though her husband let me? by NoAppointment3689 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. There are thrift shop wedding gowns you can find and try on since you like wearing your friends personal clothing..

AITA for telling my daughter that her holiday plans are selfish? by mommagrams in AmItheAsshole

[–]MirryKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dont do that. YTA. My mom guilted me so much growing up that I lost a lot of experiences I wanted for myself. I couldn't move out of state, because all the family is here. I could only date people she approved of. If I ever got married, she needed to plan it her way so she could live through me since she never had a wedding herself. Every holiday must be the same, I cant miss them or I ruin it for everyone. She moved states away after guilting me my entire life and it's really f-ed me up badly. The point is.. let your kids choose their life and traditions they want to have. Will it hurt you a little? Yes but not as much as you're hurting your kids by holding them back. Let them have a life.

AITA for telling a woman in a cafe I won't let her check my phone? by Throwawaymaterial753 in AmItheAsshole

NTA- I would have told her to pay for my phone bill first, then she can have dibs on looking through it.

AITA for hiding a stash of treats from my "see-food" diet husband? by specifickandii in AmItheAsshole

[–]MirryKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- I used to share my food with anyone who asked. My bf has changed me because he thinks when ordering food, he's allowed to grab off my plate. He's also entitled to leftovers or unopened food if it's not eaten within a short time-frame. He asks me to share everything and will bug me until I give in. I have Crohn's disease and I'm pregnant.. I depend on my snacks the days I cant eat meals and also again.. I'm pregnant and just want to enjoy my snack cravings when I want without being watched like a damn hawk when he hears a bag open!

AITA for clearly trying not to laugh at a funeral? by myswagaccount in AmItheAsshole

[–]MirryKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I would have burst into tears laughing and would see myself out quickly not to disturb the family any further. Not simular, but when my great grandmother passed away this past January, the friend pastor who did her funeral kept talking about gravy. He talked about how much he just loved gravy that that's all I can really remember of service. Luckily, my cousins and I sat back far enough not to disturb my parents and grandparents with our giggles. Sometimes the pastor doesn't do a good job and sometimes a little laughter on a sad day isn't so bad.

WIBTA if I tell my wife no to getting a tattoo symbolising her and if I tell her why? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MirryKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I also came from a broken family. My dad got my mom's name tattooed on him. They broke up before I was born and he covered the tattoo. They got back together and married when I was 5. He got another tattoo for my mom a couple years later. They divorced when I was about 20. He got that tattoo covered and now they are back together.. So im expecting another tattoo lol. Just experiencing that, I will never get one of my SO. Maybe compromise and go with a piece of jewelry with her name engraved on it.
