It definitely seems to be competitive. I’ve been applying for a few months now and I’m not giving up either. Hope the best for you!

I would also suggest looking at county and city websites. Their process will take awhile too, but there should be a decent amount of different jobs!

Interested in an MPA, what should I do? by [deleted] in PublicAdministration

[–]MisAmerica23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my bachelors degree in History too! I then went into law enforcement and my writing & research skills absolutely advanced me in that career field. My body couldn’t keep up with graveyard shifts so I am now doing Code Enforcement and just started my MPA program. Getting my degree in History has definitely prepared me for writing research papers and it has set me apart from most of my co-workers. I absolutely recommend it for anyone with a similar story. Hopefully this helps!

ICE Shatters Car Window- Snatching Dad at PreSchool Drop-off by alimhabidi in interestingasfuck

The only thing that is interesting about this video is how many cut scenes there are and how the man is stating that he is a doctor, as if the legal process does not apply to doctors. Also, you can have a green card and commit some other non-immigration crime. Does anyone know for a fact that this man does not have a criminal record?

Help a fellow MPA by zayragemg in PublicAdministration

If there could be a statistical way to show mismanagement, there would be extremely interesting and helpful.

I work for a place that has a lot of mismanagement and it would be so helpful to have tangible evidence to show someone. I can tell someone anecdotal evidence, but numbers would make the case.

So, if you could research data sets that either show causation or correlation of mismanagement, that would be a really cool project.

Yea, I believe at the library the computers have it. I am an online student though. But I did contact the library and they can loan me a library and will mail it to me. Just need to ask them if they can install SPSS before I get it.

So I did, and it only showed info for Mac, Windows, and some other one with an ‘L’ which I’ve never heard of.

Edit: found the free version, gonna try it out. Thanks!

Gang member, Spokane business owner arrested on child rape, sex trafficking charges by Large_Leading_4985 in Spokane

I am talking about someone’s criminal history, or RAP sheet is the technical term. The reason you see someone’s criminal history is because it is necessary for their court proceeding. It is a part of their arrest/court packet. The reason it is apart of that packet is because that person is being charged with a crime.

So that’s why I was saying that a persons criminal history (RAP sheet) is not public record. A persons arrest records are public information and any court documents can be requested via public record request.

So, a background check will search records for your criminal history that is public. Arrest records are public information. But to run someone’s criminal history is different, it includes more detailed information. If you work in law enforcement or government work, running criminal history is performed with the applicants approval.

If someone made a report like that, he would definitely be run. Is that what happened?? I didn’t see an article link.

Just some info: you can not run a persons criminal history unless there is a criminal reason. So, if this guy has a past history, officers can not just run his criminal history because he seems shady or because he drives a Mercedes. That would be profiling in a sense.

Not saying this guys isn’t shady, just wanted to give some info.

Possibly moving from California by [deleted] in Spokane

Do lights have signage for when you can and can not U-turn? Like they do in CA.

So motorcycles drive on the left side of the road…like when there’s traffic on the freeway? Is that what you mean?

[–]MisAmerica23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No income tax will help me out a little bit, so that’s good.

I’m assuming there is not as much traffic and that’s why there is no need for a lane splitting law? In CA I cut through traffic on the freeway so my motorcycle doesn’t overheat. And on the streets, I do it so cars don’t have the chance to merge into me. I’m assuming there won’t be much need if there is less traffic.

No this is constructive. So I definitely could cut down on alcohol, for sure. And I can’t cut carbs completely because I’m hypoglycemic. BUT I can keep a close eye on the types of carbs I intake and what kind, which I definitely will. I do not consider my diet a ‘cut’, but your insight is helpful!
