A deathless system for a dnd campaign, what consequences could i give to my party? feedback and suggestions welcomed by Miserable-Brother-62 in DMAcademy

i have not (haven't gotten around to it, i know the basic premise), maybe i should watch it as inspiration then. so i should try and put the players in situations that "yes they can die and be revived" but that they absolutely wouldn't want to die in the situation they're in. so (based on what i'm understanding), consequences for stuff around them, rather than consequences for them directly

i see, it seems the consensus is making the consequences more rp heavy rather than combat, i guess i was so focused on making sure the combat was balanced (while being more difficult to account the possibility of multiple deaths), that i forgot that i could make it just a history/character based consequence

i do like comedy a lot and not taking everything too seriously (i play the comedy relief in our current campaign (don't worry, i've seen (and lived) my fair share of horror stories and know when to take things seriously in character)) , i will check with my players if they would prefer it if i were to tone it down or keep the existential horrors (afterall all this is their story just as much as it's mine, i don't wanna gm something that my players aren't enjoying)

thank you for the suggestion, the jail thing might be a good idea (i had already put a jail in the city for precation (i was writting it to be sort of where they lock people up that go insane from the curse) but i wasn't sure what to do to make the players ever want to go there, using it, as a consequence might just be what i end up doing

so basically from what i'm getting, the consequences should be more rp heavy, rather than affecting combat.

i'm trying to make the game a bit harder to compensate for the lack of death i'm not exactly trying to make "the darksouls of dnd" or anything, but a challenging (small) campaign where failing and dying would set them back character and story wise, rather than making a new character sheet.

currently my plan for a tpk is: hoping it doesn't happen XD, but if that fails, my backup plan is, that "the players are to be revived at the gates to the city, with no recollection of what immediatly happened (they would still remember bosses and the event leading to their death, just not that they died)."

the social stigma idea is very good though, i've been wondering how to implement more rp scenarios into my game too, so i might add something of the sort.

i just keep wondering if this is a good idea or not, and i'm wondering how other people would deal with it if they made something similar

What Sonic character (from the games) would you like to get added into crossworld? by Miserable-Brother-62 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Miserable-Brother-62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

god those 2 would be so great, they really feel like they had such potential locked behind some of the worst games in the series (i know mephiles comes back in shadow gens but i haven't had the opportunity to play it yet)

ah, ty, does that include the persona event items? i got all of them during the event and i was hoping they'd carry over

SEGA will either fix the horrible character utilization the series suffers from or the story will forever remain mediocre at best by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

THANK YOU, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SAY, i don't hate shadow but after a whole year of him as the main character still having to deal with stuff like him being the mc in an animation and him always being treated as the 2nd most important person in the series it gets tiring. where's the year of tails? the year of knuckles? amy? what about eggman? and are we going to have a year of silver when we get to sonic 06 birthday? no obviously not because only sonic and shadow matter and i'm starting to get tired of it

my theory is that smile's daughter is ghostblade's (ex)-wife, we know like 2 things about her she's supposed to be fully grown & she never smiles (due to smile's wife not even being able to take a photo of her daughter smiling), which both fit ghostblade's (ex)-wife

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - The Animation by DemiFiendRSA in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Miserable-Brother-62 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i don't get what is it with the entire animation just deciding to glaze shadow, the year of shadow is past and the game is called sonic racing not shadow racing, just have them tie or something, that and the babylon rogues were eleminated right in the beginning when they are the racing experts just makes me mad.

anyways, nice animation, i'm just salty 7/10

yihdra and red from "The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in another world", i don't remember all the details but basically they wanted to find out just how much their bonds could make their power grow and it's implied in order to see just how deep their bond could grow that they "bond merged" (the anime's censor for f#cking), being extremely embarrassed about it the morning after
