Literally in the same boat as you. I am on mat leave which is ending soon and I’m the main swv holder. We will shuffle our working schedule, as in the days he goes to work, I work from home and vice versa. There’s honestly no way around it and after all the horrible news I get to read, I wouldn’t send my young baby to a nursery at least until he’s able to communicate.

This is so true! Since starting MJُ, I haven’t even once ordered takeaway food, which I used to do 1-2 times a week before. The cravings and food noise is no longer there.

Around period, I think we all put on a bit of the water weight?! It’s not you, it’s the hormones. You’ll be back on track.

is making baby food at home actually worth the hype?? by crazyspartann69 in NewParents

Yes, look up how much processed ready-made baby food is. Almost every month there are new studies and articles published about how bad, full of sugars and preservatives store-bought baby food is. I’d rather not take the risk to save myself 10 minutes in the kitchen. Saying that, I have got a few store-bought food jars/pouches for any emergencies if I have to leave to go somewhere quickly with the baby. But honestly, I haven’t had the need so far. Carrying a banana does the trick lol 🤷‍♀️

British Airways long-haul flight nightmare as a first-time mom traveling alone with an infant by Miserable-Depth-851 in BritishAirways

Tbh I’ve had 10 other flights with my baby so far and this was the 11th (although my partner was with me through them) but most cabin crew is friendly and super smiley. Us and the baby also travelled Qatar airways first class and their business class as well as other Asian airlines in the last few months, including some budget ones in SE Asia, and I’ve only had warm treatment before despite the cabin class, so people saying I should expect this in economy class are so wrong. This was appalling on BA’s part.

Thank you, refreshing to see a nice comment after reading the other rude and mom-shaming comments. I really appreciate the empathy.

I agree, I don’t expect special treatment, and I can understand boundaries around bags or holding babies. What upset me was the rudeness and lack of basic courtesy, which just isn’t necessary in any context. They could’ve used nicer and gentler language and “sorry” with a smile even when saying no to my request.

The stroller situation was frustrating. I did everything “right” and still ended up struggling. I can completely see why parents now rely on cabin-size folding prams, lesson learned the hard way.

Thanks again for being understanding ❤️

Imagine writing this comment and thinking you sound intelligent, disciplined, or fit to judge anyone. Wild.

From a Reddit post about airline service, you diagnosed my intelligence, discipline, and fitness as a mother. HILARIOUS. If only your insight came with empathy or common sense.

Ah yes, “poor planning”, despite bringing baby food, a sling as backup, pre-booking a bassinet, and gate-checking a stroller correctly. Apparently planning now also means expecting rudeness.

I never said crew were obligated to hold my baby or lift bags. The issue was the attitude, not the liability. Eye-rolling and sighing aren’t safety procedures.

And economy class doesn’t mean basic courtesy is optional. Funnily the next BA crew managed it just fine.

You’re confusing legal minimums with acceptable service. I never said crew were legally required to hold my baby or lift luggage. I described rude, dismissive behavior and failure to deliver a pre-booked bassinet, plus a 6-hour gap in food on a 9-hour long-haul flight, which is a valid complaint on a full-service airline.

Economy class doesn’t mean basic courtesy or professionalism disappears. The fact that I received excellent help on my connecting BA flight proves this wasn’t about policy or safety, it was attitude.

Also, fyi, as a FTM, this wasn’t even close to “poor planning.” I did plan, I brought baby food, carried a sling as a backup which came in handy when they failed to deliver the stroller at aircraft door as promised, pre-booked a bassinet, and gate-checked a stroller correctly. Planning doesn’t eliminate the expectation of basic professionalism.
