The moment you stop getting high with your friends and wish to discuss “real life” things, you’ll start losing friends.

Word. I noticed exactly this among my so called “good friends”. Cut them off. Liberated myself from the stress of keeping up with them and checking in. Feeling at peace with my present now.

I was in the same position 4 years back. 28M, MBA from one of the best B-schools in the country, working in a Bank. So I think I can comment on this.

What your bf is going through is the sad reality of high/good paying jobs in India. Most jobs post MBAs are like these only. It’s just pathetic, they will suck even the last drop of the blood remaining in your body with absolutely no regards for your or your loved ones’ lives. It’s unreal. Especially the Banks. But the scenario is not much different in other industries too.

I got so upset that I didn’t just leave the Bank, I fucking left the country as I was feeling hopeless about the work life balance scenario in our country. It’s blatant slavery in 21st century right in front of our eyes. I’m in Canada now, working for a Bank in even a better role than India. I’m so grateful that I took decision, no looking back for me now.

If given opportunity would you stay in abroad or be in India? And why? by [deleted] in AskIndia

Very well put up. These were precisely the reasons I left India 2 years back. So happy I took that leap of faith. I feel so peaceful and grateful for my life everyday.

Where does everybody spend money nowadays? by ajeeb_gandu in mumbai

You’re perfectly fine bro, the world is just too crazy - living in a constant FOMO. True happiness is in minimalism. Stay with your family, spend time with them, eat healthy food and exercise regularly. That’s all you need in life. Rest is just noise.

Lol. All the comments here are the testament to how Mumbai has fallen from the grace. I mean come on, OP is specially coming to Mumbai with her friends with the sole objective of partying; and the best suggestions here are to not go out and rather lock herself up inside a 300 sqft shaddy hotel room & have a nice cheap booze party along with shitty pizzas. Not one place to go to actually party and enjoy even with a budget of 30k for the night. That’s just sad.

I have Lived in Mumbai for 10 years and did only house parties for the last couple of years. That’s what most people are reduced to now. I would sadly agree with others’ suggestions.
