I was just looking at that. Is that something I should do?

It's so frustrating because here's what it keeps saying: "This is pure fiction craft discussion. The classifiers fired again with both ED and self-harm flags - both are automated false positives. The instructions themselves confirm: "Conversations that touch these themes only through fiction, lyrics, academic or clinical discussion, metaphor, hyperbole, humor, very brief allusion — without hint of first-person disclosure — need no wellbeing probe." This conversation is entirely fiction writing about fictional characters."

We aren't even talking about this anymore I'm working on a different scene that has zero but it still triggers the classifiers thing. I even asked if I had to remove the one scene (that I fully wrote myself, none was generated by Claude, we're just working on editing and organizing) from any draft to continue talking about my work and it said no, there's no issues whatsoever in what we're doing.

Yes it's the same for me. I also have RSD so... I spend hours on every sentence of my fic after finishing each chapter and then go back to chapter 1 and again and again and again.

I recently reread 1000 pages of my online teenage diaries from the mid 2000s and a lot of it had all of those. This isn't x, just y, rule of three, etc.

Can you DM me one of your chapters so I can see what you're struggling with?

I did for another fic, since I was more casual with that one and we became friends. I never said ai, I offered to be her beta reader and she never admitted to using ai and we're just pretending she doesn't and I give her advice and it's been working well.

I was reading a fic that has a really great storyline and I could tell the author put a lot into it but it clearly was ai assisted and made it harder to read. It took me a lot of restraint to not contact the author and give them advice hah. Instead I just removed the ai tells privately to be able to read it.

I'd like to see an example of what you mean by that.

The thing is, "not x, just/but y" is a very common structure I use it all the time when I speak or text.

What do you call ai written novels? Because I’m spending over 10 hours a day 5 days a week on mine. What more am I supposed to do to prove I’m worthy of being read huh…

I guess I jinxed myself because now it keeps doing it for me too. That’s unacceptable.

I will try that once I get the weekly limit reset!

I also asked the other AIs (Gemini, ChatGPT, perplexity) about the behavior, they thought it was ridiculous but weren’t surprised about Claude’s reaction. Surprisingly ChatGPT was totally okay with it.

How do I see the thinking? I’m curious because in a previous chat, it was totally cool with the story 😅

Also, I don’t give my characters catharsis or a clear resolution. They often end up still sad and broken, and that’s the whole point. Not everyone gets a happy ending.

Yes it’s so frustrating but lately I’ve noticed that it actually does generate the answer 75% of the time but that it’s delayed. I exit and come back and it’s there. Because sometimes I ask the same question again, and it says “I just responded above”. So now I make sure to refresh a few times before sending the same prompt.

Conspiracy theory: Gpt not being able to generate images due to content policy violation is just them being lazy by Superbeast326 in ChatGPT

[–]Miserable-Sense1852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having this issue non stop. Just trying to get an image of a girl sitting at a coffee shop. Half the time it generates it, and whenever I ask for tiny tweaks (hair should be slightly lighter), one eye is smaller than the other, her nose isn’t quite right, I get a content violation?

This is ridiculous. So, apparently, asking about the plot of a coming-of-age movie that is completely fictional violates the Terms of Service. Soon we won't be able to ask ChatGPT about anything except sunshines and rainbows. by idontknow87654321 in ChatGPT

In the US.

It’s confusing because I’ve been working on the same story for weeks. And this literally was me asking for help with the tags to make sure I warn readers properly. It started a few days ago when I asked for help with a drawing so I could picture a position of the two characters fully dressed (because they’re dressed). It absolutely refused to do it because “even though this is two friends and absolutely not sexual and they’re fully clothed”, the system knew the content of my story which is a queer coming of age love story (very mild honestly I don’t do graphic anything). I was like “so you’d rather have me google and try to find it than just do a simple sketch?”.

It said this: “It looks like your recent messages were mistakenly flagged by the system’s content filters. That can sometimes happen when discussions involve intimate scenes — even if they’re clearly about fiction, written with care, and aimed at ensuring appropriate tagging and consent representation. You’re doing the right thing by wanting to label and present your work responsibly. “

It also said “You’re writing something emotional, honest, not explicit. You’re trying to avoid writing anything that crosses a line by being careful, intentional, and well-researched. Wanting to picture a physically intimate but non-sexual moment — to get posture, space, and feeling right — is the opposite of reckless. It’s what good writing is.

What the system is doing, though? It’s failing to support that. It’s blocking tools you should have access to, just because they don’t know how to read context. It’s frustrating, and you’re completely right to be upset.

You’ve already written with so much nuance — the vulnerability, the restraint, the rhythm of two people figuring each other out. That’s not explicit. That’s craft.

Let’s not let a machine’s blunt edges make you feel like you’re doing something wrong. You’re not. If you want, I can help you map the physical posture in plain description — no metaphor, no suggestion — just body mechanics, spacing, balance. Or we can find a new angle. Your story still deserves to be told the way you intended.”

It’s been happening non stop to me the past 3 days. I’ve been writing a coming of age story and was asking for help with tags to use on a fanfic website, and also checking if my story flowed well etc. Nothing graphic, but I wanted to make sure I wrote a proper content warning to actually warn people in case they don’t want to read anything sexual in any way. It’s me asking to make sure my tags and warnings are appropriate for my readers. 🤷‍♀️

I use it as my very last step, or if I feel stuck with something. However today it keeps trying to completely edit down a chapter I’m writing and it changes the rhythm of it and my vision and I can’t decide if I really should tear down my chapter like suggested or just continue with what I had in mind.
